Ubertiming is one of the hardest things in the game to be honest; too early and you end up running around with no-one to kill, too late and you end up dead! It's something that comes with time . The main thing is not to die with an uber, if you have one and you get hit, pop it and try to improv something, these are usually the most effective ubers as no-one (not even your patients) expect it! You seemed to do a good job mate, keep at it, like I said, you'll get a feel for when the time is right after a while .

Try equipping the kritzkrieg to help practice uber timing.  As they charge quicker you get more chances to use them and hence more time to learn when to 'pop' it

As a n00b medic as i am, going bonkers and being a battle-medic from time to time it's easy getting killed if you r on the front line. Just be careful and watch your ass and you'll be fine . If under attack or danger approaches from behind be sure to tell it to your patient

Whilst there is truth in this statement, if medicing gets me to the top of the leaderboard I care not for my KDR

Usually, as a medic you SHOULD be at the top of the board. You get to roll with the best players on the team, getting points as they kill stuff AND you get points for healing. Unless you have Cheez on your team, who will just run away, kill 20 people on his own and come back for about 20 hp of healing, which gives you nothing.
