Uh I like writing about my life..  Tongue

Shit:
1. got fired in January, after working for the company for nearly 3 years, doing everything (up to a certain point) what the boss asked me to even when I thought it is inhuman
2. found work in May, got fired again in September. The reason: It is not my fault, I did a good job and learned very fast. (niiiice reason  Angry) Well now I know that there was a colleague from a field office which wanted to have the position but couldn't start befor November. So I became unemployed again.
3. my grandfather got hospitalized again (He's better now)

Nice:
1. Paul asked me to marry him Cheesy (I had to wait for that 8 years and 11 months, so it was time for it, I think Wink And he has somne more months/years to get used to that thought)
2. I decided to become a childminder/nanny and started to make preparations for it. With every day thinking of it, I know more and more that this is exactly what I can/want to do.

Summarising:

January - August: Shit
September - Huh?: Very nice!

PS: I forgot: Of course it was also very nice to become a member of this nice community  Grin

Meh, Jan-July was spent preparing for job loss, July-November was spent looking for a job and December is spent living on abot 50p a day because the c-units at the dole office won't give me more then £90 for a whole months worth of money.

Not a great year, but at least next year should be a bit better!

Pretty much my entire year has been split between playing tf2, getting pissed, playing football, eating lots of food and sleeping (total time each probably in that order). If every year of the rest of my life is like that I will be a happy chappy Wink

Oh and I failed a load of first year exams at Bristol uni, but passed all my resits in September so thats all good.

I think 2009 was a good year for me.

Ok, so my work load has increased. But at least I still have a job.

Crashing my car into the back of another car was a deffinate low point. I still feel foolish about that.

I continued to see unusuall sights as a I traveled about.

I inadvertantly discovered that I do have a lot to write about on a day to day affair.

I took the plunge and changed the heating in my home. I'll worry about paying it off later Smiley

The geek in me rejoyced at getting a copy of windows 7.

I continued to have fun playing TF2. Not any good at it, but I'm enjoying myself.

I had a nice holiday in Cornwall. Ok, so I enjoyed the food a bit too much. But isn't that what a holiday is for?

An off the wall idear gathered momentum and the Who Dares Grins Anual Roggering was born.

I got around to upgrading my PC. The joys of dual core was mine. And a large monitor helps.

Another year of being single. No worries. The future is a big place and I'm sure I'll meet a woman paitent / crazy enough one day.

I managed not to do anything monumentaly stupid. However there are still 10 days left on that one.

My luck continued to come in when I realy needed it. Shame I haven't won multiple millions though.

I finished a long undertaking of becoming a sperm donor. I've helped 10 couples achieve a family of their own.

I've had a car crash into my home. I made tea & coffee for the police.

I helped my neighbour with DIY stuff. Boarded out his loft. Helped him move funriture. Plumbed in his washing machien. Connected his PS3 to his wireless router.

I tried my hand at being a self employed home IT engineer. It fell on it's face. I'll stick to my day job I think.

I got a G4 mac. Got to love garage band.

I applied for a job as an aprentice snow technician. It had to be worth a try. Never heard back, but at least I made the effort.

Managed to loose a stone in weight over the last year. So now I'm just "overweight" insted of "obease".

Still need to record the Ripsaw version of the TF2 anouncer. Hopefully Santa will bring me a nice diafram condensor microphone.

Still need to finish the Radio TF2 project. Take the hint on the microphone Santa, I've been a good boy. Honest.

Still need to decorate / replace the kitchen.

Still need to repaint the bedroom.

All in all, I'm a lucky man. The past 12 months have been filled with many more highs than lows for me.

18th birthday was one of the best nights ever... that was a definite high.

Passing my driving test (second attempt) was a massive relief.

Finishing A-Levels was a high, leaving college was a bit of a low (it's actually quite a fun place).

Starting Uni was an amazing high... missing old friends is another bit of a low, but seeing them in the holidays makes it even more special than usual Smiley

BFM finally admitting we were never that good at being a clan and going our separate gaming ways was a low...
But, of course, joining the fine ranks of the Grinners here has been a high. Or at least for an extended trial period Tongue (which apparently I fail if I ever play sniper again?)

Progressing with music, getting a new cornet & trumpet and beginning to take things more seriously has possibly been the biggest high. Knowing that I'll never be good enough at it to do it professionally is a tad low, but not that bad seeing as my Uni course gets interesting next term Smiley

Lows
Put back quite a lot of the weight I had lost (two stone) during my holiday and first semester at uni. Too much beer and take-out.

The bad bits, get the worst over with;
The first 5 months at work were bad due to an ongoing law suit between the Directors.

That had only just got settled (and when I was really needed at work) when 2 days later, at 35 weeks (ie about a month left to go) Maree lost our baby Tia.  Being at the birth of my other children was amazing, being at the birth of my child when I knew she was dead was the worst experience of my life.

Buying a new car and finding it needed new water pump (and having no money) wasn't the best feeling in the world either.

The Good Bits
Our Director won a law suit against his business partner who was trying to steal the company from under his nose.  This meant we regained control of the window factory and despite being left with over £70k in unpaid bills we had our best year ever and I get to sell double glazing.

Managed to get 2 week long holidays this year, one of them without the kids to Wales where we climbed down Snowdon (got the train up) and umm...

Maree got pregnant again, must be the Welsh air.  Baby due March

Finally got rid of my old Renault Megane which I'd had for 3 years and purchased a Mazda 323F which despite water pump problems is brilliant.  Till the MOT in Jan.

Getting £700 in damages from a car accident that happened 2 years ago.  Yay for unexpected money.

Upgrading my PC to something that would run the latest games (except GTA)

Finding out I had 5 days of holiday left and taking them 2 weeks before Christmas and getting to take the kids to school.

Best Films
Up!, absolutely brilliant
Slumdog Millionaire, ditto

Best Games
Team Fortress 2, what else?
Dragon Age, best RPG ever in the mould of Baldurs Gate
Empire Total War, Not as good as Medieval 2 but worth it for the naval combat
Civilisation 4, still a brilliant game

Its been a shit year and I can't wait for it to be over.

Various reasons, not too much detail. Just want 2010 to start....

Have enjoyed my on-line time though... an escape.

One of my best friends got married (she had a fantastic wedding) Smiley

Visiting Dave, Lecki and their kids was awesome Smiley

I have managed to take some delight in my kids.. who keep me smiling when they're not being little sh*ts. Sad though that one day I will have to fight them off to get to my PC to play on-line games! Cheesy
