Just seen it on steam for £3.50. Now that is money I should probably save for christmas presents or food, but I did like the original, despite it being populated by mostly psychotics who have all mastered the game and consider their soul purpose in life the genocide of noobs, such as myself.

As disco says. If you can headshot a wasp from 200 yards away you'll love it, but if you can't it's more like a lying down simulator with dated graphics. Although posh toilet roll is a bit overrated too.

I was wondering the same thing as I've already got CSS downloaded from when someone gave me a free weekend gift pass. I'm tempted, but I don't know if I'd ever really play it. I bought DOD:S for a similar price but hardly ever played it.

As for toilet paper, soft stuff is definitely good after the experience of the cheap stuff we have at work.

I bought it mate, I got sick of Chaos giving me shit about not owning it! I think we might even have a server for it kicking about somewhere so I'll be up for a game at somepoint. Don't really want to venture into the world of pubbing though, heard some real horror stories!

Quality game, well worth a few quid. And yeah we have a gungame server, but we haven't really populated it recently probably because of all the good new games out atm.

As for all the dicks playing it on publics, if anyone gives you shit just tell them you love them and they get all confused about how someone could love an idiot like themselves. They then proceed to malfunction and their heads explode... problem solved

yeah my work/uni has sandpaper like stuff to discourage you from pooing on work time and using their loo roll (or they are just cheap bastards). You're lucky to not bleed after using it.

I played CS awhile back even on 1.6 it was so broken people were shooting through walls and doing stupid things with grenades. I played CSS on a guest pass and while it wasnt buggy, it was still a completely boring game where its too easy to die coming round a corner from a ridicolous sniper rifle or someone spraying and simulatanusely headshotting you with close range weapons. And then you are dead for a round. Theres also no teamplay involved whatsoever and since i gave up giving a damn about whether im better than some 15 year old whos probably cheating/fapping/or high on caffeine whats the point. DODS is a more sound investment. Theres still some annoying moments in DODS but I feel its a lot less insta-death (except for stupid nade spam).

gungame (or even reverse gungame or turbo gungame) is great fun. normal CSS, not so much.

it requires a heck of a lot of practice before you're playable on it. I went from CoD:UO to CSS in 2004 and the shock almost killed me (in game it did though, like every 10 seconds). its a very fiddly game and requires you get good before you have fun playing but to get good you kinda have to enjoy playing so only play if you hate yourself.

Don't play instagib on UnrealTournament.

Instagib is the only mode I play on UT2k4, it's great fun and does wonders for your twitch aiming.

Geez there is alot of css hate on here, might take alot of practice to get to a decent level competitive-wise but just on random pubs? Not really, just lower your sens, take a m4/ak and aim for heads and if that doesn't work just buy a p90 and hold down m1

Guess what i'm trying to say is don't let these guys put you off if you haven't tried it because you might love it as much as I used to! Also there are clans as laid back as WDG on css, you just have to find them.
