Hzza from my last few months of pyro/spy I hoped you'd gather I don't have a clue about anything technical in TF2, I repeat fancy words and hope they're sued in the right context

We had this discussion a while back in a different thread; anything that fires a bullet = hitscan so you wouldn't get bullet delay. That is, if bullet delay is what I think bullet delay is....

Iv'e always been informed that there was a slight delay on things like bullets, to represent the cartoonish-ness of the game.
If not chaosfox is a liar.

As far as I know TF2 hasn't got ping compensation so you should have to compensate latency.

Chaosfox is a liar. As Cruel said, there is lag comp and what not which might throw your aim off, but all bullet weapons are definatly hitscan.

All hitscan weapons register instantly, any delays in hit registration are related to your latency. Also, the actual bullets you see flying out of your weapon are just for show, the hit is already registered by then (or not).

TF2 does have compensation for ping my net config looks as follows (explainations provided by m0re ) //----------------------- //NETWORK SETTINGS //----------------------- rate "30000" // MAX BYTES PER SECOND THE HOST CAN RECIEVE DATA cl_cmdrate "66" // NUMBER OF COMMAND PACKETS SENT TO THE SERVER PER SECONDumber of command pakets sent to the server per second. cl_interp "0.02" // INTERPOLATE X SECONDS FROM THE GAME (0.02 = 20ms) cl_lagcompensation "1" // PERFORM SERVER SIDE LAG COMPENSATION OF WEAPON FIRING EVENTS cl_updaterate "66" // NUMBER OF PACKETS PER SECOND YOU ARE REQUESTING FROM THE SERVER cl_smooth "0" // IF SET TO 1, ATTEMPTS TO SMOOTH THE VIEW AFTER PREDICTION ERRORS cl_smoothtime "0.01" // TIME OVER WHICH TO SMOOTH THE VIEW AFTER PREDICTION ERRORS (IF cl_smooth 1 is enabled) cl_interp_threadmodeticks "0" // ADDITIONAL INTERPOLATION TICKS TO USE WHEN INTERPOLATING WITH THREADED ENGINE PACKET MODE SET cl_pred_optimize "2" // OPTIMIZE FOR NOT COPYING DATA IF DIDN'T RECIEVE A NETWORK UPDATE AND ALSO FOR NOT REPREDICTING IF THERE WERE NO ERRORS cl_interp_ratio "1" // SETS THE INTERPOLATION AMOUNT (final amount is cl_interp_ratio / cl_updaterate)

i bet they started on the achievements
knowing valve they have named them in a hilarious but deeply offensive to a CSS player way
Anyone for a "Get your tent and stove out" achievement for not moving from the same spot with a sniper?
