Saw it in Game (practically the only shop left in Margate that sells anything for more than £1) and was very tempted. 

Anyone got it?

played a couple of hours, it's pretty amazing - like an interactive story. The world is great, dark and brutal. The choices you have to make are a nice change too, no simple black/white, more like choosing between a variety of grey areas.
Or should i say you can usually tell which the "good" option is, but have solid reasons for not doing it. Very compelling stuff. There are masses of voiced cutscenes to watch, prob 60% of my in-game time so far has been watching cutscenes.

Gameplay wise it's baldurs gate with some improvements (less downtime between fights, 3d camera etc)

Would like to play more, but no time atm.

Bioware knows how to make excellent RPG's.

What's the party control like? Is it as good as Baldur's Gate?

Control in a fight:

Don't know how it was in Baldurs Gate, but you can chose which character you want to play with via click on their icon on the left screen site.

The other characters do things automatically but you can always change the characters and give them orders what to do.
You can pause/unpause the game for a better general view.

You can also preset tactical behaviour for every character. It's a bit complicated to explain, but you can tell them what they have to do if they are surrounded by 2 enemies or when they have to heal teammates.

If a character dies in a fight they will revive after every enemy around is killed.
It's similar to Mass Effect.




When they don't fight you can run around in a group.
The character you are playing leads the group and the others follow him.
You can tell them to stop and wait for you (or move freely afaik).

I've got to get it at some point, might wait until the price is lower and I have more time - like around Christmas

I have it, found it's way into my trolly in Tescos, only £26 too.

First impressions are that it's very close in spirit to Baldurs Gate, graphically a little dated (it's been in development for years) but if you enjoyed Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights you'll love this

I liked Baldur's gate more than NWN. NWN2 is pretty alright though.

i think i'm gonna get it, annoyed that theres 2 DLCs available from the start. The worst thing is there are reports of Wardens Keep quests being mentioned in game which is OK but then the cheeky NPC tells you to go buy the DLC, breaking immersion is not cool. I guess its easily avoided by giving in and buying the DLC tho.

apparently the guy had forgotten to install the free dlc maybe tho and you only hit that npc when you bought a secondhand copy without the dlc or just forgot to install it?

what i'm struggling to find out is what happened to wardens keep. my brother got it with his steam copy, but now its not listed on the store pages or reported anywhere as being with the steam copy. was it some kindof limited time offer?

no idea, but you can obtain it through other channels fairly easily.

The DLC seems like it will be heavily promoted, I got 2 of the 3 available just by buying a retail copy and Wardens Keep is free with another version of the game.  It comes up available to buy in the main menu.  Haven't seen any references in game yet though and I'll be pissed off if characters start to mention it.
