my setup is a samsung sm 2232bw connected to a 8800gt through a dvi cable running win 7. my monitor goes to screensaver after a couple of minutes and after 20 will go on standby. if i try to bring the monitor out of standby my eyes are assulted with a strobe light imitation. the left side of monitor up to half way is barley lit at all whilst right side is ok but the whole monitor is going crazy flashing which can last 30 seconds.

sounds like my monitor is dying slowly?  Sad

Yeah, check the warranty, and also check to see if the monitor is a "Plug and Play Device" connected or not. Might be windows, you never know Smiley
