Hello, seeing how great it worked out with Brahms gifting me Borderlands, I've been wondering, if us europeanuts could futher abuse any of you lucky UK peoples, as you usually have games that are cheaper, uncut and of a superiour smell.

I'm not sure if you even can see the current ongoing Stalker 75% off deal (here:http://store.steampowered.com/app/4500/, as it is apparently not available in my region. If you can, I'd be willing to try and check what happens if someone gifts you an item, that isn't available in my region. Does it run? Is it wasted money? With such a low price it would be worth to know or did anyone already try this?

Bottom line: I'm willing to pay you 5 pounds over the steam price for you to gift me stuff from steam as it is usually still much cheaper than buying it here. Can't say I buy stuff from Steam often, but when I do, this could be a nice opportunity to save some more money. Depends on if there is anyone who would be willing to help?

Well it be cheaper than £3.50? Actually this is just some kind of an experiment, as I neven found out if games that are unavailable in your region are actually working if they are gifted, but thanks for the offer, Milli!

Dealy I'll contact you later today, the price seems to be on par with the retail business for once, though it's probably a more common occurance for you than it is for the rest of EU.

if its not available in youre region it won't work, deadly tried that with tropico 3 and he has to wait till the real release date here to get a possibly censored german version. FAIL deadly

valve don't offer refunds despite the fact that breaches our rights as EU citizens, technically we can sue them practically its not worth it over a £30 game. My arguement to valve was refunds still apply to web services in the EU and you could argue no service has been provided until you start you're first download of the game. But they knew I wouldn't sue them over £30 so they ignored me

I presumed you had seen my other thread power. Apparently according to another thread it works according to CD-keys. At the very worst case - I have a copy of STALKER at home which isn't connected to steam so I could just give you my CD-key and you could find somewhere to download it from?

nice I guess its more clear-cut then that service hasn't started. They probably have some limp excuse that they can't track when you first begin downloading a game, but thats just lies/cba.

Oh don't worry, Deadly, I'm fairly sure I have it flying around here somewhere, I just wanted to check if I can get region locked games with gifting, but that's cleared up now. If the developers/publishers don't want to offer it on steam in my region, then they obviously don't want my money anyway.

If something would pop up on steam, that I want to have (Battlefield Bad Company 2 for example, did you see that video???) and it is significantly cheaper in UK than in Germany (which it usually is), I will definatly exploit your kindness in the future.

There could be other reasons for a game not available in regions besides censorship:
If in a certain region the distribution rights have been sold to another distributor then Steam might not be legally allowed to offer that item without approval of that distributor. Stalker's a mess in that regard, since the distribution rights for both existing games lies with two different companies, and the third will be handled even by another one.
