Having had my (nearly spam free) Hotmail account for nearly 10 years I think it's time to get another email address due to the hotmail security being utter crap. My ISP email has long been abandoned due to spam build up.
Can anyone recommend a good free email service that I can access from home and work.

I find myself stark naked except for a pair of latex gloves attempting to pull on a pair of red tights on in my parent's spare bedroom.

I use Yahoo Mail and find it excellent. Unlimited storage and the new interface is brilliant. I also find the spam filter to be very effective.
It's actually a Mail Plus account that I have which costs me £11.99 a year and removes any ads as well as stopping the account from ever expiring. It also means that if the account ever gets hacked (which mine did a few years ago) I can call Yahoo customer services to verify that I'm the real account owner with my credit card details and get them to reset the password for me to regain access. That was vital to me when it was hacked as I discovered my eBay account had also been hacked and a fraudulent listing put up under my name.

Gmail doesn't attach adds to the bottom of all the mails you send. Im pretty sure hotmail does judging from emails i'v received from other poeple. Does yahoo attach adds to your emails?

Hotmail does. It was one of the things that made to grow so quickly as every email had a "this message was sent via hotmail.com" message at the bottom

Being a pedantic historian here but [Citation Needed] I also disapprove of this thread. I'd not trust my primary emails to any free account. However I do have a secondary Gmail account (which I rarely use, especially since it doesn't support IMAP) and a hotmail account for MSN.
