@ Hzza, no, what I actually mean is that there are a few misconceptions that new players get quite easily. For example:
1) Higher ranked players have better weapons, ammo, armour and abilities (marksmanship for example). Newbies need to understand that it is not a level playing field and doesn't get better until you get away from Level 1. Thankfully, you can gain levels quite quickly. I hated the fact that you can get the drop on someone, fire and damage them significantly and still die, even though you have the element of surprise and fired first.
2) Medics cannot actually heal without gaining an unlock or two.
3) Weapon switching - if a weapon is empty, some methods of changing weapons (i.e. mousewheel) don't allow you to select an empty weapon. Even when you are trying to switch to it in order to reload.
4) Spotting - no idea what this was about until someone mentioned it. You can spot enemies as well as shoot them. This means that the enemy is visible to you (and your team / squad) for a short while via the mini-map etc.
5) Squads - you can create a squad for you and your friends. It wasn't clear to me as a newbie, that when you die, you can re-spawn ON a squad mate by selecting their name (when waiting to rejoin). Good players will allow their squads to re-form. This also makes attacking a single enemy quite tricky - you kill the enemy but sometimes will see 1 or 2 squad mates appear and gun you down. Not a deal breaker but is actually a good system that enables a squad to be cohesive.
None of this was apparent from the manual or the in-game menus - which aren't as clear as in other games I've played.
EDIT - Yes, loving the game though - a nice distraction from TF2.
