I just gotta say that the soundeffects are totally a reason why Im buying this / bought the first one. It sounds sooo realistic. Its just so cool if something explodes in front of you and your ear drum dies for a few seconds.

Sooo... the preorder on Steam is up for 35 GBP. The price is not great, compared to play.com, game.co.uk and the likes. I'd rather preorder from those places, but I can't dig up any information if the game will be able to get registered with Steam (I guess so, but...)
Damn it.

Do you really want it to be registered with steam that badly? If you can get it on steam then presumably the overlay will work.. what else is there?
(Aside from the admitted convenience of never having to put the DVD in. But are you really wiling to pay £10 for that?)

I genuinely prefer having all my games on steam - if nothing else because if you want to format your harddrive (with steam on another drive) you don't have to reinstall anything - all your steam games run from wherever they are installed... And then obviously the fact that you never need to put a DVD in or worry about serial keys ever again. Plus the fact that it automatically updates the game for you...so you don't have to worry about trawling through the internet to update the game manually (and incremental patches can be a bitch) I suppose if it was linkable to steam then power could get someone in the UK to order it and just give him the serial key (which he can then pop onto steam and download without needing the disc)

As an aside: I'm so glad they've ripped of COD:MW's quick knife melee system. I loved that.

Official Twitter account said NO registering of the retail version with steam. It also said, that probably all steam pre-orders are limited editions.
Oh and yes, I'd have to pay 49,99€!

Me too cruel. Just ask someone from WDG to buy it in UK and gift it to you. Anyway, I didn't buy a standalone game for a long time now, so this will be awkward, but the price on steam is just not good anyway you put it. BF2 was also one of the last games that I still have the DVD for... everything else is pretty much on steam. Okay, will probably preorder it on game.co.uk or play.com
