TF2 is the only online FPS game i've ever played so i've no other reference points, but if i'd have started with this I wouldn't have carried on.
I don't mind so much being killed by people I haven't seen, thats skill and positioning. but what I don't understand is when I unload a full clip into someone from behind and they don't die Grrrr.

Must practice more!!!

Right click and crouch for improved accuracy.

As seen from the stats page, crouch doesnt improve your aim at all except for the medics weapons, but only for a very little amount.

Anywho, I played Medic in BF2. I'm thinking about getting BC2, so from what's written here... tl;dr I should get it. Right?

I guess if you played it before, you know what to expect. I'd never play it on pubs though.

Medic is pretty similar to BF2, except for you to have to unlock all the useful stuff before actually become a medic (Medkits and shock paddles). But you can do it within a day from my experience (and I'm a horrible medic).

Basically, how I feel it's a BF2 on a smaller scale and with more attention to infrantry. There are still vehicles and helicopters, but not as much as in BF2 and the maps are downsized quite a lot in some occasions. Overall I quite like it and since you've known me for about 10 minutes now, my opinion clearly should matter to you. See you on the battlefield.

The unlocks DO play a part... aid damage and range, accuracy etc, not to mention survivability.

It *does* annoy me that you can get the drop on someone and still die. But hey, you'll find yourself winning after you gain levels / skill / unlocks too.

Which I find quite problematic, since over time (=ranks) the gap gets quite huge.
As such BFBC2 is pretty much a noob-adverse game.

Yeah - but it doesn't take long to unlock all the guns for a class (few hours?) and you get most of the rank unlocks (like specialisations etc.) by around rank 15-17?

After that...it takes ages to level up - I'm on 30 and I need something like 112,000 points to get to 31. Sloooowww.

Actually I found myself raging on some people, cursing their 1337 unlockable weapons which got me EVERY TIME. Turned out, they were level 3 noobs playing with the first weapon available. Just saying, there is more to it than just better unlocks.

Yeah what power said often people rage me and i look at their rank and its like 5 or something. And compare and contrast this with bf2142 when i finally reached lvl 51 last year and got my final unlock :/

Also...those of you complaining about emptying a clip into someone and them not dying...you solved your own problem 'emptying a clip into someone'. Burst fire is a lot more effective - you'll only ever see me empty a clip on someone when they are in really close range - and even that's rare as generally I'll go in for the knife kill.

If you struggle with that - use an assault rifle that is burst fire only such as the AN-94 Abakan or the M16A2 - if you're aiming at their head it'll put 3 bullets right into the crosshair position i.e. their head and they'll go down.
