depends if your system is up to it and you can be bothered to reinstall but generally all the reviews and such are positive and say it doesn't suck dong like vista. The student offer expires in like December though? Don't remember the exact time but you have to wait till next September if you miss their student deals. Probably worth picking up even if you put it aside for many months.
EDIT: You have to pay them more for extended download service because they are jerks. I suggest sticking with the 30 day download and burning 2 or more copies. I got office from them last year burned it twice and stuck the serial on the top.

finally got mine sorted out last night. fixed to BCD issues too so now it boots without the cd haha was frustrating for a while.
jsut going to get a few more apps on it tonight then ill ghost it so i know i can just do a restore if anything goes wrong.
hopefully ill get chance to get in game soon. sorting the pc out with windows 7 while moving house is not the best idea but i just had to do it.

Got my copy which I'll be using with my constant reinstalls and driver installs * Finaldeath groans Better be worth it for the XP Virtulisation Will be definately testing that! And I'll pick up another copy through the academic program. I work at a University, and it can apply if you're a staff member too. (yes, shame I pre-ordered back when the £99 offer was up and that academic one wasn't!).

Okay, trying to customize Win7. One thing I'm missing is the ability to create custom toolbars and attach them to a side on the desktop. In XP I had one with Launch Icons for my most used applications and documents. I know that you can attach programs to the taskbar, but having a few dozen icons there is not something I want. Would somebody know a way to create a custom toolbar, a tool like a sidebar (which Win7 apparently no longer have) which can hold links to applications and docs or a gadget which can act that way? It's always the small things which drives me the most crazy

Tea - same way as always? Right click on taskbar - > Toolbars -> new toolbar?
That's the way I do it, got my mp3 folder on there.

That only creates a toolbar within the taskbar. In XP you could lift the toolbar and place it elswhere. I had mine on the right desktop-border. In fact I had 6 seperate toolbars there, covering different topics (Games, Internet, Applications, Docs etc.), and I could put them into a custom order. That no longer works. I'll probably have to do that if no other solution can be found, but I would really prefer a tool/sidebar I can stick on the side of the desktop. PS: Just noted that you can order Win7 toolbars as well.
