I dunno, if ever a game called for a boycott, this one does. The singleplayer only lasts so long and for the first time in a long time I am thinking of heading to the good ol' bay

The Savy guide to buying it. Short version: go to Curry's and buy it using their price match policy against the Sainsburys price. If you want it at midnight, buy it then, play away, then buy a cheaper copy the next day and return it (in packaging) to the place you bought it from with the original receipt

erm yer sorry, iv played it and enjoyed it a lot, the singal player might be short but it means i can acuttly finishe it and then move on to the mutilplayer, dont knock it till you have tried it. however i can see why some people wont want it.

also the erm 1000 people long quew at gamestation makes me think that the boycot didnt go to well

They're probably buying it on console, since they never had dedicated servers or any of the usual stuff anyway.

we are a tragically smaller market and this possibly has something to do with the epic piracy MW1 was seeing. Infinity ward have probably just pussied out and said fuck it, if PC players are going to pirate we're not going to waste development money on them. The tragic thing is I happily bought the last one and a decent multiplayer (with its online only profile) is one of the things that stops me resorting to piracy when poor, but with the multiplayer executed ala the first game intro theres nothing stopping me from appropriating this game for free, they've even gone out of their way to piss me off enough that I feel I can enact vengeance by helping them set new piracy records.

also iv grown to hate clans and modders over the last few months they split up the communty and turned it into stilly factions. im all far IW trying out a new matchmaking system and getting THAT to work so i can have a fairer game and low ping is possable beucase OP2 pulled off last week

and you can't kick hackers/cheaters. and you know the matchmaking is going to suck more than the one in L4D, and that matchmaking is epically bad. And the host has a 0 ping advantage, and you can't choose the host, and theres a 5 second pause when the host disconnects and a new one is selected, and noone on a home connection has the upload speed capable of hosting an 18 player game. You can't change any options like the FOV or crosshairs because theres no console not even for minor tweaking. And theres nothing worse than the general detritus that is the community at large, the amount of times I have problem players on L4D and can't do anything about them because its a public server is horrendous, some guy tried to kick me for half and hour because of my clan tags before.

The thing is the onus is on them to fix the problem not us. They want us to pay for their game, if they want our money they'd better show some respect to their customers, pissing us off not the way to get our money. I was a legitimate customer last time but I will not pay for crippleware because Infinity Ward have problems with some of their PC users.

The other issue here is some of the hackers are likely to produce dedicated server code easily enough (they made cracked servers for MW1) making it likely the only way to play MW2 properly online is playing on a pirate server, which if you owned a legal copy would probably get you banned.

i can host 16 players in ofp:dr, never tried to go any higher. my upload is 768 kbps

anyway, activision have ruined IW and really, really are into cashconsoles and i will not pay for something that clearly will not be worth the price tag

Ok well the average 256 kbps connection won't so you have to hope your lucky and someone like marenghi is around

EDIT: I forgot to mention hosting a server is technically in breach of some ISPs T&Cs, IWs reponse: Deal with it SUCKAHS (they won't even add the option to opt out of hosting if you know your connection sucks or you legally can't host).
