Yeah, Junta - there is the competition scene... Joy of joys, lobby waiting...I already totally enjoy doing that in Left 4 Dead.

There is also the issue of support, and not a small issue either (EA always shuts down old servers, especially for sports games, as an example), will Activision hold up servers when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (or whatever jackrubbish name they come up with) comes out?

Oh, and nevermind any kind of ping/location issues (as others have said), overloaded servers (how many will they offer, honestly?), server's maintenance (I want more crap like steam does, no, honest, game downtime is fun!) etc. etc., which is heaped up on any other issues that will arise.

In a kind of perverse way, I'm glad that all this shits gone down with this game; the last one I got and loved every minute of. So much so, that I was really reluctant to take it online as all I've heard are bad things about spawn camping, leet snipers pwning and cheap, unavoidable kills. So, if the multiplayer is scuppered on this one from the get go, GOOD, gives me even more of a reason not to take it online! There's no doubt I will get the game at some point (I got pissed off with the last one for not coming down in price enough) and no doubt I will love it and no doubt I will ignore the mutliplayer and still get my moneys worth.

I loved the singleplayer in COD4, never got into multi, so i expect i'll really like COD5 (though removing lean doesn't bode well :/ ... )
I am opposed to matchmaking servers though, they just suck. IW will make tons of money form casual gamers so it makes sense from a business perspective, but it's a big fuck you to the multiplayer community they built up with COD4 for competitive / clan play.

Wow, shit, they've got gameplay features they're removing. Ouch.

And peer-to-peer crap, I love that, you'd need a fuckton of upload speed to get anywhere near a dedicated server. Ouch.

Oh well Might get it cheap for the singleplayer at some point though.
