Taking over the game I see the world has changed a little from my last go, you lot have done brilliantly, we are nearly 1000 points ahead of our nearest rival. I do notice that our forces are mostly hellishly out of date, some citys are not defended and some are just defended by macemen. I immediatly move units to cover the undefended cities and start on a huge program of upgrades before we loose half our empire to a couple of units of cavalry.
Fortunately the only nation who is likely to go to war with us are the Germans and they are rather weak.
I get the great scientists to build academys in Guiltstanbul and Bystandantine
I lower the science rate to 20% to get us 1000 gold a turn for urgent upgrades
The next turn I build Juntatown next to some sheep.
On turn 3 we finish reseach on Combustion and start on Radio and send our Workers to build oil wells.
I send the great prophet to join Chinaphobic
The next few turns are spent on upgrades, our out of date army turns into a formidable, if badly camoflaged force of Redcoats, Cannon and Cavalry. Our Galleons are upgraded to Transports and our Frigates (and one poor ikle Caravel) are upgraded to Destroyers. This costs us nearly 10,000 gold!
Whilst these upgrades are going on Juntaville loses alot of its land, I revolt to Emancipation, we build The Statue of Liberty and Broadway
On my 10th turn I turn the science rate back up to 70%,
On Turn 11 I hurry Theaters in Fat Chance and Juntaville and raise the Science to a decent 80%
Turn 12 finally sees Radio turn up and we enter the modern era, I start reseaching Assembly Line and start to build the Eiffel Tower in Final de Ville.
On Turn 14 Wall Street is finished in Bystandantine and Banhammer starts Rock and Roll, Ironworks is built in Chicago and lots of borders expand including Juntaville which no longer looks likely to revolt.
Turn 16 sees Assembly Line reseached and I start on Industrialisation so we can start getting some tanks. We get another Great Prophet, why can't we get some decent great people

. All my frantic upgrading is now out of date as we can now build riflemen.
Turn 18 San Francisco revolts, about time too. They give us 2 shiny new riflemen. The Chinese had 12 units stacked in that city.
On turn 20 we reseach Industrialisation and start Plastics
I do a bit of trading for Hit Musicals which in total gets us an extra 53gp per turn from all the other Nations
On turn 22 Chicago starts the Pentagon
Cathy turns up on turn 24, wants to swap Artillery for Assembly Line, never one to turn down a women with big guns I accept.
Turn 25 Napoleon declares war on Bismark, I upgrade some Redcoats.
Turn 26 Plastics research is finished and I start reseaching Mass Media
The Eiffel Tower is finished in Final de Ville, probably one of the best wonders in the game, it puts a broadcast tower in every one of our cities. That's a lot of broadcast towers.
On turn 29 Mass Media is reseached and Flight is started, Bystandantine starts the 3 Gorges Dam and AmSterdam starts the United Nations.
Thats my ummm.... 30 turns mostly spend in consolidation and upgrading. Now we can build tanks and have a reasonable defence we can really have some fun, perhaps we should try and take the whole continent for ourselves. The choice is yours. I'd advise building airports everywhere before we go to war though.
