Crit-a-cola seems like an ambush tool- you'll get a few seconds to dole out increased power before someone notices and one-shots you by sneezing on you.
As for the pyro, 20% really isn't a massive loss. Valve have been saying for ages that they were always looking for ways to make the pyro's skill curve have a higher end point, and learning to use the airblast effectively is a pretty high-end skill.
playa is pretty much perfect with the airblast.. seriously it's ridiculous! he reflect airshots me pretty often

I like the idea of airblasts, I just dislike the fact that as a solder, I can't do anything to counter it. Or am I meant to be shotgunning pyros now? I guess with their new damage falloff it could be possible.

I really don't see why Pyro has had a nerf Survival and effective attack was difficult before... why Valve, why? Airblast goodness, that's fine (except for Claws' point on continual uber disruption).

All sounds good to me faster heavy - will definately play more easier and more rewarding to airblast with pyro - will definately play more targe reduced turn - it needed it, it was op and unavoidable before sniper flaming arrows - will play more just for flamin arrows New map cool Bug fixes cool Only extra thing needed is as junta says more play modes....

Hate that pyros can deflect stuff back at me when the rocket wasn't even going to hit them.
If that wasn't the case, I'd never have a rocket reflected back at me

Pyro is one of the least played classes in my experience so making it even more unpopular is even more of a dick move. Pubs are gonna be filled with more snipers and spies now. If they're pissing around with everything they could at least let the pyro air-blast jump.
I suppose at the end of the day in a group they're still going to be dangerous. And they're still spycheckers. I wonder how the flamethrower nerf will affect its damage against buildings, looks like we might need that stupid hammer after all.

Good shout. Also, no-one have any thoughts about this: Could the introduction of kritz/mini-crits to all classes spell the death of random crits?
?

I don't think they're big on removing things, it's just more more more. Plus it's a pretty contentious change at this stage. However...possible, and nice idea...

? I do, it would suck massive donkey balls. Its all very good making changes for the competitive crowd but no random crits would hurt everyone else and make it too skills based. If they're making it so random crits being turned off in comp play don't wreck the game thats fine but they should never go off for pub play.

? I don't think it will, random crits were always intended to help avoid stalemates, replacing them with mini-crits just makes it more like comp play. Valve can be stupid sometimes, but I don't think even they'd do something which would probably make a large number of people stop playing.

Crits on/off has been debated for our servers quite thoroughly. Outcome is this. As long as random crits are in the game, they'll be on our server I don't think they'll remove random crits, and if they do, there'll be a server plugin we can use to restore them
