Chaos, when you speak of FPS dips I'm confused. Don't you have an super uber supercharged rig and don't you play with extremely shitty looking fps config? How do you manage to get fps dips with that???

The update.. is interesting. The heavy is satisfied.

P.S.: Crit-a-cola is epic, but will certainly not be allowed in comp play. Right? Right?

Sounds like pyros who don't have the axtinguisher/don't like using it are fucked.
And is the pyro now able to reflect faster than a soldier can shoot?

Crit-a-cola (minicrits for 6 seconds) sounds like it'd make me an useful scout finally aka IMBA, but that one really needs testing.

I think what they're trying to do is move people away from W+M1-ing as pyro and get them using the airblast/axti which, IMO, is a good thing, but I think reducing the burn time is going to be a massive nerf (lets be honest, thats where a good portion of the damage you do is).

Crit-a-cola on the other hand = retarded. Without damage spread I think a scout can meatshot for 120ish damage, add in mini-crits and thats close too 200, add in the FaN and you can probably get close to 2-shotting heavies in about 1 second. Retardly OP. May be hyperbole, I'll check my stats when I get home...

I think the death of TF2 started (and will no doubt end) with the mini-crit Sad.

edit - Heavy changes are all good too, all he needs now is his Gloves of Running Urgently and I'd consider playing the fat git a bit more! Targe/Sandman changes I'm not all that bothered about; most people that still use the Sandman can't hit shit with it anyway (Tongue), although I am a bit gutted that I didn't have a chance to try out the uber-turning thing with the targe but meh, I can live without it.

While I agree that the current changes aren't all good, valve always has fixed unbalanced stuff IMHO. Splitting the community never solved anything.

I'm sure they'll fix the imba (mostly), but I'm more worried that valve don't play their own game. Nerfing flames means everyone will go airblast pyro, which means more uber disruption, which means more frustration for medics. Pyro was fine as it was! More scout crits? come on...

It's the increase in frustration and random ways to die that annoy me. Oh well, as you say, Valve will mostly fix it eventually.

I agree with Claws... better official maps and game modes are needed.. not the novelty sh*t.

I'm not sure I understand the impact to Pyro - damage reduction isn't needed. I think that Pyro is already handicapped tbh, and further nerfs will make the class unplayable for all those except the "l337" club.

Can someone explain the point about the axe and the pyro reacting quicker than a soldier can fire? Did I miss something here?

As for the heavy, well, sounds like my life just got easier tbh. Quicker spin up time makes tactical moves easier to execute.

The balance countermeasure appears to be, that a scout under the effect of crit-a-cola also takes minicrits from everything as if he is under the effect of jarate. Well and he has to stand still to actually drink it. Don't know if it really is all that balanced, but it shouldn't be too hard to kill a jarated scout. The question would be if you can kill him before he nails you with his kritz.

Well until the patch the only way a pyro could reflect all the rockets of a solly was if he ran backwards and the solly stood still, otherwise the cooldown between airblasts meant the solly would overwhelm him with rockets. I'm not sure if this is still true after the patch.

The axetinguisher crits on burning people, so against single targets if you were good, it already outdamaged the flamethrower by far. With reduced fire damage I (we?) fear that it will be the the only viable tactic to do decent damage in close combat.
