If anyone finds that their Tf2 crashes before getting to the menu screen, an old version of the PREC addon is to blame.
The PREC addon is used to automatically record demos for matches. I had an older version and its presence causes Tf2 to fail during startup.

Well, played Pyro now. Got a reflect kill on a solly - which I found very hard to do before tbh. Noticed that a Pyro seriously disrupts ubers now Burning is practically useless - helps to identify a spy, BUT the damage is minimal

Yep, I tried cooking some bots on gas mark 8, but found all I could manage was a gental simmer. Up untill the patch for the patch, the flare gun was usefull. But that now has had a damage drop.
OK, so the air blast is a lot easier to use, but does this mean that the pyro is now more of a defence character? Blast back various projectiles and put out burning team mates. The psycotic desire to see the world burning has been some what newtered.

Team Fortress 2 Fixed several issues with the Source SDK Added new items to commemorate our 119th (or so) update Scout's "Retire the Runner" achievement updated to be "Kill a Scout while they are under the effect of Crit-a-Cola." Added a 20% damage bonus to The Backburner. Fixed the Flare Gun's afterburn duration being lowered by the Flamethrower's duration reduction. Fixed the teleporter exit using the wrong particle effect. Fixed HUD damage indicators not appearing. Fixed Teleporters not reverting to level 1 when their other side is destroyed. Fixed receiving damage not causing view-kicks on players. Fixed Engineers & Spies being able to circumvent build restrictions. Fixed Server Browser not saving filter settings properly. Fixed a client crash in the targetID on clients running custom HUDs Looks like there's now a decision to be made when playing pyro: support airblaster or ambushing backburner. Also, the flareguns useful again . Anyone know what the "new items" they added are?Nvm, shitty medals.

Medals! http://www.teamfortress.com/119/For blocked readers: You get a medal depending wheter or not you played tf2 within 3 months, 1 year or after that after the release of tf2. Shit, I'm afraid I'll be part of the 3rd group Edit: Actually I registered within one year of tf2's release on this forum, so I should be in the second group. Partey!

I just checked my steam account and I got TF2 on the 5 Nov 2007 which should put me in the first group too. YAY! (if you want to find it btw...click on <your account name>'s account at the top...and scroll down and it'll tell you when you bought tf2...probably - that's where I found it anyway) Also...valve broke how they handed out the medals which means that you won't get them yet
