That's part of the problem for me. Getting global kills is nothing big the server has to inform me about. Anybody can get that sooner or later. If somebody got the ... say specialist achievement I know that guy just did something amazing. Oh happier news: The quickfix is amazing. It won't replace the medigun, but it'll be a worthy contender. Healing rate: amazing. Running as fast as a scout: amazing. |

i got a quick-fix uber as a heavy, stick my head out on dustbowl spam corner. dead in a few seconds. The lack of overheal is what makes it useless, the healing boost might be great but 300 health isn't enough to tank spam.

It would seem more like a defensive uber to me, but again, if the enemy is piling on with their normal ubers, you will go down eventually... a couple of seconds later maybe.

It's dustbowl, what do you expect?
On badlands, the only time my übered buddy died is when he got stabbed by a spy.
Remember, while übered you heal 100-300 health per second! That takes quite a bit of spam.
A nice sideffect: If during an über you spend a second on a second person badly hurt, he's back on full health. With a normal über that guy is safe for exactly 1 second.
Like I said, normal medigun is better, but the quick-fix has its uses.

Yeh I get the impression that it is not meant to be used for pushing (hence no effect on the player getting healed when activated) but just as a means to keep everyone on full health. One medic can probs keep 4-5 people fully healed on spam points through the faster healing and the uber. Fast charge rate means you should just be activating it as soon as you get it. I think the idea is to get medics away from tunnel vision healing a heavy (why there is no overheal) and instead start spreading out the goods.
Can prob get some good combinations e.g. heavy, medic and solly (with whip) able to get round flanks really fast.

heres just me hoping etf2l wont ban it straight away (they seem to be quite tolerant towards new medic stuff). Thing is, on comp maps like granary, you can get to mid with your demo now when running with the scouts. Once you get on the point you already have 100% (since theres no charge rate penalty when theyre at full health). Kind of risky rollout, but then you can use the uber to heal both equalizing sollys up and just rush the enemy as hard as you can. Would like to try that out, it already was kinda cool in the beta cup we played in.

Are you certain about that? I always told everybody to hurt themselves. (And it's hard to keep yourself hurt with that thing ) 99% certain. I got my uber up when I ran with fully healed scouts to mid on granary, same as with kritz on full chargerate. |
