Spades are just so much more practical. When you've finished bludgeoning some fat maggot, you can then use the spade AGAIN to bury his sorry ass.

You fist toting panzies on the other hand have no choice but to dig the hole with your paws, like dogs (well, maggots dressed up as dogs)!

On a serious note, we're gonna have to schedule fisting / spading properly (oh err)  

When a heavy stops shooting and pulls the firsts out it isn't always "Completing the objective" which is one of our server rules. We should pre-arrange our spade fights then - and I as clan leader have to be seen as following the rules.

Therefore gentlemen, I give you: "Fisting by appointment"

Why would we want to make our hands dirty if we can use that thingy you use to try and wake your brain up as you bash yourself in the head repeatedly? You only have spades so you can dig a hole to have something to rocketjump over, because you like it, when your feet are burning. What's that smell? Cheese???


Seriouuuuuus:
The problem with melee battles is, that wouldn't work. Usually the faster, more mobile class will win. The fun of it is doing it during a normal match. I'm not speaking meelee only, I'm speaking cornering poor solies and punching them out - something I usually do in a normal match on a regular basis if I don't want to spent my time reloading the shotgun or revving  up my minigun.

Yep - agree. I tend to melee as a last resort, when the enemy is pretty much cornered.

No matter what heavies do, fists just won't be as awesome as spades because fact of the matter is, it's EASY to win a melee fight when you have 350 health. The only thing worse than having a heavy rev up his minigun is having him get his dukes up and acting like that's a fair fight.

The beauty of the way of Spade a Fatty is our refusal, absolute refusal to pay attention to the odds being stacked against us. The heavy has close range domination? So what. His health is greater? It matters not one jot. A medic? A technicality.

The  fatties can beat us every single time, it doesn't matter, we don't care if we are outnumbered or outgunned, you can crush our skulls or you can riddle us with bullets. In our loss is the germination of our glory.

We will stand before  an enemy so vast and terrible that he could never be destroyed, and we will still draw our spade, and fight on.

And we will spade you.
