Well those who are lookiong for an in depth explination will proberbly not find it from me but i will try and give one anyways.
DescriptionNow this is an action game in an rts world. those who know Tales of Valor, it could be assosiated slightly with opperation assault. You have varying heroes, 2 bases, waves of soldiers pushing towards each others bases with the task to destroy their main base. the difference is the fact that opperation assualt is dreadfully unbalenced while HoN is not.
You control one heroe which means every click will make a difference but by only giving you one player to control you can focus on controlling him/her well, yes there are female characters but really calling them female is a stretch when you see them.
What makes this game fun to play is the varying phases and things you can do in any one game.
at the beggining you start off all level 1 and you have 3 lanes you must split up in which contain creeps, NPC characters who run the lanes and try and destroy the towers. The other team has creeps aswell so they bump together. In the first 10 mins or so you try and level up to get strong because at level 1 creeps will own you.
This phase is all about timing as you get more xp for last hitting creeps (actually killing them) and denying your creeps (last hitting your own creeps to prevent xp). Basicly you try and level up while your enemy trys to stop you. Remember he/she will be in the lane aswell and they will try and harras you to scare you away which is why you must do the same.
Once this phase is over you move onto the part of the game which i find the most fun which is around level 10 or around 15 mins in. This stage you have many options; gank, lane, push, neutra kill. The list is endless but what on earth do those things mean i hear you say. Well maybe your to bored to care by now but what the hell. Simply put the options are endless and untill you play the game there is no point spending another 5 paragraphs explaining these terms
The final phase is all about pushing the enemies base and trying to destroy their central structure, now this phase requires the most teamwork as a team who have been outleveled by the enemy team either by being killed ot much by them or just sucking can still win by being smart and knowing when to hit the enemy hard, push mid!
Oh i should also mention you get gold from killing creeps which can be spent on loads of different items which help make your character beter. So if you can't last hit creeps you won't get nearly enough gold to get items which really bost your character.
Proslots of fun with friends with friends
Many different characters with completly different play styles to play as
variaty of items to select
something always going on
there is always one way you can improve your skill
when you are skilled it is amazing as you realise how every little click you do matters
HAM and BFM play it so there are people to play but seriously who wants to play with BFM, play with HAM
Consyou need experience and not the stuff your character earns but you need to play this game quite a bit before you will understand it
the skill floor is high so i can see people who don't really like fantasy not sticking with it
unless you have friends to play with it will be hard to stay commited
ConclusionI hate fantasy i really do, stupid orcs, stupid dwarfs and stupid elves. I looked on dota with discust because it was fantasy but this game is unique which is why i play it. its not an rts, its not an action game, its somewhere inbetween and this new genre is great if made well. Yes relic i am looking at you!!!!
