A truer definition of an "other game" couldn't be more apt!

What have your team been doing over the summer? Europa League aspirations, mid-table boringness or a struggle to stay up in store for you?

As a Pompey fan, talk of a takeover has been good and exciting, but no followthrough has seen most of our key players bugger off to clubs like Bolton (!!), Spurs (!!) and Liverpool (!!!!!!!). Signings haven't been much better, Aaron Mokena is a fucking liability too, one of my mates is a Rovers fan and told me he's never seen someone give away more needless freekicks/penalties . It's ok though, Steven Finnan's making his return to the Premiership............

Going to be a tough season for the Pomp this year methinks.

edit - Just noticed Martin Crainie, our Under-21 English defender, the future of our club has fucked off to Coventry. Bastard.

Seeing as i'm from Northampton I support Northampton Town... none of this glory hunting Man Utd bollocks in this camp!

So far... pretty crap. We got relegated down to League Two on the last day of last season at Leeds.. needing only one point from our last two games to stay up... *sigh*
We lost 18 games by a single goal and had we equalised in any of these, we would be in League One. Hence why we went down with a goal difference of only -4 !!

First game of the season we played Macclesfield, who's only aim is to not get relegated out of the Football League. We were pretty dire and drew 0-0, making my drive back to i37 even worse when I realised I could have played in the TF2 tournament instead.... though hindsight is wonderful... you never know what the results gonna be until the game is done.
We're already out of the League Cup.. lost 2-0 at Southampton on Tuesday, though the day was made nicer by our great pub stop in Winchester and a nice chat with Mode (bringing my "people i've met in WDG" tally to five).

We're playing at Chesterfield on Saturday.. my old flatmate from Sheffield was a Chesterfield fan so there may be a score to settle... not too confident as they were a decent side last year. Bring it on

Same here in Germany

As a 'Hamburger' I support my beloved HSV.

You could know them because we kicked Man City out of the UEFA - Cup last year.

I think the German Bundesliga is much better balanced than the Premiere League, because we don't have those guys from Russia/Emirates who buy our clubs and put giant amounts of money into them.

Also tickets in Germany aren't so overpriced like yours and the games are at weekends.
We have large standing areas where you get tickets for 8 to 15€ and there is the best atmosphere.





But I really enjoy to watch Premiere League because the football played on the Island is harder and more rude than the German.

Im just hoping that my lovely home team 1. FC Kaiserslautern will reach one of the first 3 ranks in our 2nd division this time and do the miracle they did 10 years ago (came out of division 2 and won the first, no team ever did that here^^)

You're right it's a shame to do ad's in stadium names.... We still call it Volksparkstadion

Atleast we dont have to name our stadium after a stupid company

But to be honest when its about the first div, then Im also a fan of your HSV. Bremen sucks, Bavaria sucks the most and the others are just stupid (Kick Mainz outta there too, pls!)

And its about the atmosphere, not the size of a stadium I would rather stay in 2nd div than have those "success-fans" like Munich.

Sadly standing areas are becoming quite scarce in English football.. even lower down the leagues. I'm a bit of a football grounds buff so the consolation I will take from dropping down a division is that I get to go to more of what I consider to be "real grounds" rather than what we like to call "McStadiums" in retail parks
