That is a fairly dramatic improvement, I think I shall stick my neck out and say there was a problem with your old heatsink/fan

Yar! I'm just glad that I spotted it before there was any long term CPU damage. £20 for a new heatsink is much more doable at the moment then £120+ for a new CPU!

Who built your PC in the first place :/ Yeah, it was my own fail . It was my first one though and that (and a stick of RAM in the wrong slot) were the only things I fucked up, so I don't think it's toooooo bad :S.

What is the freezer pro like to fit? I've had many, many CPU's, Pentiums, Athlons and *NEVER* have a I seen such a shit retention system as the one used on LGA775

What? You mean the way that your not entirly convinced the thing is on properly? I rang Fade when I came to that part of my build because it just diddn't feel properly fitted. I thought I must be missing something. The bloody thing moves so much I swore that it was going to fall off as soon as I stood the tower back up. I mean after the terror of fitting heat sinks to AMDs of the past, where you were petrified as to weather the mother board was going to snap under the strain, or you might end up putting a screwdriver through the board or you own hand. Just pushing four plastic pegs in felt just as effective as trying to spit out the flames of a furnace.
