You know the quick memory check the bios does when booting? It displays me that 4193280 of 4194304 are OK.
However, running memtest86 2 1/2 times, it reports zero errors.

Which one is more to believe?

I've seen this problem before.  The only solution is to completely breakdown your PC to its component parts and let the static seep away - about 6 months should do.
On the bright side you truly will be GLaDOS for half a year and I'll feel safer on the WDG servers Grin

Have you tried some other memory checkers? Static eh? sounds a bit odd that Memtest wouldn't pick that up.

are you getting any issues in your OS/Games ect?
Any crashes/BSODs?

Its only a few hundred bytes of data so its not much your loosing. I know its still annoying, If the RAM is newish (under a year) I would RMA it for some new sticks. If its older, buy some new RAM.. You can get 4GB of DDR2 for about £20

I don't think I've had a BSOD on this machine yet and only tf2 crashes from time to time, so no, not a lot of crashing.
I think I'll leave it at it is at the moment and start putting some more in once I get "real" problems, then I can probably also put in more.

Edit: Reliability Monitor for the win! Last BSOD on 22.02., in between one crash from firexfox, vlc and chrome, a few explorers and hundreds of hl2.exe (Man I'm glad valve fixed that!).
