Well my play through the area I was in with Brahms and Claws was pretty much the same when I was there alone. Maybe there are some special enemies thrown in, but I don't think that will be enough to pull me back again.

Still, there is at least 4 playthroughs for every character plus whatever fun I can make out of the coop.

Does anyone else has this problem with the quests, where you have to collect different parts and when you collect a part that your radar isn't showing at the moment, because you just stumbled over it first, the radar doesn't show the following parts locations correctly? I spent about 10 minutes locating a piece that was somewhere else completely the first time it happened. One of the very few bugs that I encountered. Although I managed to break the scripting in the first area, when I gone back to the bus stop and all the tutorial messages started appearing again and a claptrap got put back to the spot where you learn to jump the first time, except he never followed me, just stood there and screamed "I'm over here" repeatedly until I entered a different zone and came back at a later time. Good thing he is not vital for anything in the game.

I'm level 25 soldier at the moment and it still is fun. Encountered some pretty crazy weapons as well. Smiley

EDIT: I don't know what exactly you mean by soul, but to me it's a pretty solid shooter (the shooter part is just great) and some of the best bits of diablo. Wish the environment was more populated and more interactive, but it's good enough for the first playthrough.

P.S: What I really miss, though, is exploration. There level are quite small or designed for running through them in one direction. You can be sure that EVERY part of a level has been designed specifically to be a scene of a quest. No stuff to just randomly discover and see some cool stuff, sadly - the universe they built would be pretty good for it.

Well I've played it two ways: with 3 strangers (lvl16) and with 1 friend (lvl30). With the friend it's way more fun. We spend time discussing skill tree, we drop all of our sniper rifles to compare them, giving the best to him (he snipes better and more often) and the second best to me.
With the 3 strangers I felt like on a freaking speedrun. While I do part of the missions, they do a later part that unlocks once I've done mine. Everybody rushes around, grabbing stuff. It's chaos Cheesy

Now I dunno how it is with 3 friends, but I really think it's most fun in smaller groups, since the pace is kept at an acceptable rate.

I also feel difficulty to be a bit low when playing with more people. Death has no consequences, especially in coop.
Though that might be because we're doing teamwork, my solly is skilled for it. Tongue

Having said that, shooting teammates in the face with a shotgun and getting thanked for that is FUCKING AWESOME!

Oh and brick is awesome once you get the fire upgrade for your special ability. You see NOTHING but a yellow screen and a falling life bar. Cheesy

It might be that there's absolutely zero immersion. The clunky interface doesn't help.

I agree that the shooty bits are pretty good (Though sometimes I don't know why they bothered with the shotguns, and I think the health on some of the mobs is a bit stupidly high) But it is decently fun.

I think it'll probably get better as I level up a bit more, and played with voice comms, it's definitely worth the twenty pounds I paid.

That's what bothered me, when I had the first session with Brahms and co. I started up the game for the first time and ended up in the middle of some mission (about Lvl 10-11) into the game, with no knowledge of basic mechanics, the story or what I'm even supposed to do. My weapons and skills were useless and I was constantly lagging behind only being informed that somewhere ahead of me someone killed so and so or collected so and so.

Singleplayer has been great fun for me though, much like fallout 3 but with proper shooting part and nice item system (it falls short of it as an RPG, though, but that's not what the game is about IMO).

P.S.: Shotguns are freaking awesome. Though I'll agree on immersion, the world seems a bit empty and not much ineraction is going on except for some generic recorded responses. More voice overs would do this game much good, especially with the quest givers. The Tanner chick is pretty funny though.

P.P.S.: Seriously, try it in singleplayer over extended amounts of time, it feels SO much more balanced and coherent. I don't think the game was concepted as a 4 player coop shooter right from the beginning. They probably only turned in that direction after L4D became a great success. It feels like a singleplayer game to me.

I just played with claws and brahms up to my first level 10, it was too rushed with the 2 of them not waiting around for me to have any idea whats going on, i don't blame them its just the way the games designed they can run off and leave me and get the quests done quickly. It was a lot better with just me and claws and he needed me to revive him Wink, it was a little closer to the l4d ideal of coop then. My only real complaint about the game so far is gearbox led me to believe the game was about skill, yet until I got a badassed fire sniper rifle at level 10 my lower level rifles would miss crap waaaay too often forcing me to use a wussy pistol on everything and not get any kills. It doesn't seem to be a problem with other lower level guns. the crapper sniper rifles should have got a bit of an accuracy buff and maybe just lower the damage to balance, as it is theyd probably be better used as clubs than a gun.

Power I had the same problem I think mainly you need to stick with either one person whos willing to stick with you, or you find a group who hasn't got further than you in the quests so they can't rush through. I only got the game setup today so I am going to struggle to find a group able to play together like that until we've all just finished the game and are able to rush through it all as a unit, which is kindof sad really. I've no problem playing this as a singleplayer game and enjoying it at my own pace but I was expecting a good shared coop experience.

Thanks for playing with me though guys despite the rushing at least I can just about coop with people now. And if I can get my character to the point you guys don't know where to rush off to I think it'll get a lot better.

Yep, that's what I was trying to say: less players, better game.

I think the way to go is create one char for each group, that you play ONLY with that group. (And having at least one char that is for a 2 person group.)

Also Torgue, thanks for creating some great weapons!

I've found it's pretty skill based, just make sure you use guns with a nice accuracy stat. Then it's headshots ftw.
Nothing better than getting a string of one shot kill headshots in frantic close range combat with a revolver.

I find myself mixing up my play style and guns quite often between sniping, midrange with revolver/ assault rifle, and getting right in the thick of it with a shotgun.

the loot aspect is great, getting just one new gun can change your whole loadout and your style of play all together. for example around level 14 i found a repeater pistol that had rubbish accuracy but  huge clip and firing speed and all of a sudden i was just rushing positions with it as it ripped apart badguys better than any shotgun i had at the time.

also repeater pistols are way badass, i used them so much during the first 15 levels. it takes ages to find the right sort of combat rifle though, they are all either high accuracy, low clip size deals or low accuracy and high clip deals. i wanted an in between for ages but the SMG basically fills that gap nicely.

Repeater pistols ftw at the start, I had one like you, massive clip, decent damage, average accuracy - but it had a recoil reduction bonus! Great fun running around spraying in bandits faces and watchig the shower of crits roll in.

Weird, one thing I never used are the repeaters. I prefer revolvers for damage and SMG/combat rifles for rapid fire. Finally got a fully automatic (non-burst) combat rifle with 94 mag size. Every bullet does about 140 damage and a whole lot more if it's a critical - 97% accuracy too! I had a shotgun that did about 2000 damage per shot when it was a crit (97x12 or something), but it took painfully long to reload, so I switched for a 78x9 with corrosion effect, which is also way faster. I really don't know why there isn't some kind of WoW or Diablo armory, when you can search a particular character and see his stuff. Would be much better.

Current loadout: revolver with firex2, full auto battle rifle, bad ass shotgun, sniper rifle and a couple of different rocket launchers in the backpack (one of them with corrosion effect, very fast rockets and rapid fire, the second one shoots three rockets at the same time, like the UT one). Oh yeah and that weird 110101010101 gun, which is great against gatling guns. Smiley Currently using acid shower as a grenade mod - hilarious. Oh yeah and my sentrydispenser is pretty usefull, too. Smiley Loving this game (the more people, the less fun I have though, but two people works just fine).

EDIT: The problems with such game, that have some sort of story and progression is keeping the group. It was a problem with Diablo and it will be a problem here. You either have to start a lot of characters or you can't play if the others can't... meh. I'd like to replay some quests with a full team though, Sledge's mine for example was pretty cool and can be played in many tactical ways. A bit too small maybe...
