I've absolutely had it with this got-damned case. Recommend me a better one. I'm not looking to spend more than £70, it will sit on the floor, and I nix pretty much anything with a window on the side or a door on the front.

Id say that something like this Lian Li beauty
Lian Li make awsome cases, and I wouldnt buy any other brand having had the last 3 cases made by them, theyr cheap, excellent build and parts quality and airflow/features are sweet for the price points!
Pretty much any Lian Li case you buy will be awsome! they're also setup for modding so if you can be arsed, break out the dremmel and cut some holes for cable management ect..

+1 Lian-Li, I have the previous model (PC7b i think) of that case and very pretty and quiet. They are abit tight inside though if you have lots of Hdds or a long gfx card.

I should have probably mentioned that I have quite a long graphics card. (It's a BFG OC'd 9600GT)

The Lian Li does look quite nice, does it have extra usb ports?

I got a Coolermaster Elite for my niece for £22 off ebay http://www.ebuyer.com/product/127584 , ended up swapping it for my Lian Li case which cost me £50.  With hindsight, apart from the style I wasn't that impressed with my Lian Li case (it was the cheapest one out there 3 years ago).  It was badly laid out and vibrated whereas I'm well impressed with the Coolermaster especially at the price I paid.

Case design has come on a lot in 3 years though.

The Lian Li 2 USB ports are hidden under a flap at the bottom of the case.

Loads of room inside. Plenty of places to fit fans. And you can get long graphics cards in it. I have a bit of a thug in there. Double width and as wide as the mother board (30cm approx). The hard drive rack is turned through 90 degrees so as to accomodat the large cards. The cable managment inside is very good as well, in that it has some. A nice touch is a fan bay on the back of the case that lines up with the back of the motherboard at where your CPU would be. It takes a 8cm x 1.5cm fan. Then there is room for x1 12cm in the front, x2 12cm in the top, x2 12cm on the side, x1 12cm on the back and even x1 12cm at the bottom. So cooling shouldn't be a problem. I can't remeber what fans it came with, I think it was at least x1 12 cm non-LED fan. Extra USB, well on the top there is x2 USB, x1 fire wire and a SATA socket. Oh and microphone and head phone sockets. Anything else? Oh yes, the PSU is mounted at the bottom of the case.

I was going to recommend the Antec P182 that I've got. But the price isn't shifting down. I'd second Rippy's call on the CM690. Having seen his, it's a sweet case with a fair ammount of room.

Antec 900 is good for cooling, but I find it a bugger for cable management (no holes in the motherboard tray etc).

Seems a good case to me.. f*ck off big fans at the top and nice drive caddies with fans attached too.

the 900 is a good case, but with that window and no cable management (or very little) its gonna look ugly inside!
you can of course get the dremmel out (like I have with my grandads rig hehe) and cut some holes, theres enough room between the mobo tray and side panel for you to squeeze some cables in there. It does require some brute force though.

But I would still go with the Lian Li offering. cooling isnt quite as good, but it looks lovely, clean and has good cable management options (which is as important as cooling fans)

Seems a lot of recommendations that are at £50, which leads me to suspect that £70 is a bit of a weird price point. What kind of stuff would people recommend if I said more than £70?

Though I do like the look of some of the recommended, I'm curious as to what extra you can get, and what you have to pay for it.
