Team Fortress 2 Update Released
June 8, 2009, 4:54 pm - Valve - Product Update

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Engine

    * Fixed Day of Defeat: Source server crash when loading dod_jagd.


Team Fortress 2

    * Added a "Discard" button to the item pickup panel.
    * Added a backstab custom death animation to the Heavy.
    * Changed default for tf_arena_use_queue to 1. This was the original behavior prior to the last update.
    * Changed the Dead Ringer so it can be activated while carrying the flag.
   * Increased the Force-A-Nature's damage by 10%.
    * Fixed not being able to reflect arrows with the Flamethrower.
    * Fixed The Huntsman drawing a muzzle flash under lagged conditions.
    * Fixed the background color of the Spy disguise panel not always matching his disguise team.
    * Fixed idle players being kicked when the server has tf_arena_use_queue set to 0.
    * Fixed Spies not being able to sap a building if an enemy player was colliding with the building.
    * Fixed getting a real target ID on an enemy Spy that's disguised as one of your teammates if you are disguised as an enemy.
    * Fixed the Ambassador not shooting enemy sticky bombs.
    * Fixed Spies being able to automatically cloak after uncloaking at the moment of a weapon switch.
    * Fixed Jarate instantly exploding when thrown in some places, like the final area of Badwater.
    * Fixed spectators not having their items removed when they enter spectator mode.
    * Fixed Sniper "civilian" exploit where players could crash the server.
    * Fixed a couple of cases where viable backstabs would fail.

Nothing that special in there, a few small buffs, can't wait to see the first reflected arrow kill. Money to whoever gets it.

GOOD!!! Finally... Badwater was a waste of time when using jarate.

Thank god... All my favourite Arena servers had no autoteam because the admins forgot to set it to 1 when the last update came out. I love arena because theres no winningteamjoining.

  * Increased the Force-A-Nature's damage by 10%.

Overpowered! The Force-A-Nature isnt a weapon to kill someone in a combat, its actually a weapon you use to flank the enemy, if you get behind them without them seeing you, they're dead, the damage before this buff was fine.

    * Fixed not being able to reflect arrows with the Flamethrower.

Good change, there should be atleast ONE option to dodge an arrowhit, pyros running in closecombat to huntsmansnipers got headshottet 9 out of 10 times.

Agree with the Pyro getting a buff - bit stupid making the pyro unable to burn or deflect an arrow in self defence.

The FaN did not need more damage tbh...wonder why they thought this was needed? The skillful scouts will love it (I'll be avoiding Trigger I think).

Chances are this wasn't bad for spies, they fixed two giant bugs and a less giant but still annoying one.

I really don't see why the FAN needed a buff, it was already good for disorientating your enemy and throwing them off track, now it kills them too...not a fair change imo.

The only difference now is that maybe the odd pyro will die when (s)he would've (pre-buff) just been knocked up into the air. I might give buffed FaN a go but the normal scattergun fits my style that much better so I doubt a 10% damage buff will get me to change.

I just played with the FaN and I had 24-1 on CP_well I just finished off everybody. Its overpowered, 2shotted a medic on mid-distance, 3 shotted an overhealed heavy on point-blank. No thats not good. And that doesnt really feel like its just -10%....

Come on, does he really need a freaking buff? I'm a terrible demoman and I managed to rack up 8 kills and take out sentry nests. I'm not saying its easy, I'm just saying if I can do that shit and I'm rubbish someone posessing your Godlike sticky throwing (quiet at the back!) prowess should be taking down whole teams by himself.
