I chainsaw'd a tank the other day, it was working quite well until he turned around and punched me halfway across the map.

their 'improved' behaviour bugs me though, like never missing rock throws and quick spins to punch you in the face after you try to penetrate them from behind with your chainsaw

The aimbot rock snipe thing drives me nuts, it's pretty much unavoidable. I believe it's mandatory to melee/saw the tank on anything less than advanced, although on easy the tank is pathetic, it dies from a broken heart/rude words/etc.

Yeah - it's *impossible* to dodge unless you are hiding behind something solid & large (apparently it isn't enough to crouch behind some low cover) and the tank doesn't turn around to face you when it throws...it just carries on aiming in it's original direction but the rock still comes flying towards you.

Can you dodge it by heading in one direction, then after he lets loose, moving the other way? I know he compensates for straight line movement perfectly.

Really? I've found dodging the rocks to be pretty easy. Sure, they will always hit you if you keep running in a straight line, but as Brahms says, if you change direction as soon as the rock leaves the tank's hands then it'll sail right past you (provided you're not like within melee range of it, as the hit boxes are bigger than they seem).

Yeah, only time I've had a problem dodging them is when trapped in a small space, most recently after falling off the side of hard rain's finale roof. Still wish I knew how to do the quick sling animation in versus though.

Oh yes. I've never been so engrossed in a finale before... no chance to feel like a bystander on THIS one.

Simply EPIC design by Valve... they've hit the mark with it....

Only really played two campaigns on L4D2 seriously, with Claws, Deadly and Emu (Burny too). Can't wait to get another crack.

jesus. played a scavenge game last night 1 all with the last game currently at 10 all cans wise. i am the closest to the can i run grab it and it hits overtime so i literally cannot drop this can at all. i realise i am isolated when a jockey appears in front of me he misses his jump twice and i am running back to the group facing him meleeing him as best i can. i then see the others beside me and turn around into a hunter i back off at the last second as one of my mates somehow gets in the way and takes the hunters pounce as he does that the jockey flies past my head onto a different survivor! the other survivor cleans up and we get to the motor for the winning cap as a spitter just missed the spot and we sneak it in.

it was fairly epic and my heart was RACING.

We have upgraded our network infrastructure to better accommodate the huge response to L4D2. 360 players will now have lag-free servers. We've also added more dedicated servers.

UM PRETTY PLZ SOME PC SERVERS VALVE. I know you all play xboxs all day because you're weird and like playing your games with controllers (WTF is that about?!), but really the amount of times I end up on a server that lags normal people and gives me a ping of 1 s or someone gets forced into self-hosting because no servers are found is appalling.
