Trying to keep this relatively short : they've tried to rebalance for versus (which is probably good), but in doing so have weakened the basic play of campaign mode. The early guns feel awful and melee tires too quickly. Preventing melee spam makes sense, but now they've disincentivised helping a boomered teammate by meleeing them off him - if you have a slow rifle you'll be defenceless too in seconds. Ammo feels too scarce, so you're super reliant on your teammates ; admittedly they've changed the zombie timing to encourage movement, it's more like a constant stream of zombies now. Oh and melee weapons encourage team mates to either run wildly in front of your guns or smack you with a bat, I really don't like the melee aspect at all. I've only played one full campaign so hopefully will change my mind. The worst thing is how old it all felt. Perhaps when I've adjusted my playstyle to fit the new game I'll love it. And I think we must both talk to danish mark too much since we have the same podcast list, although I can't get on with P&PPT, seems a bit too pleased with itself for my liking. A&J is much better

I really like the new versus score system! Its much much better than just constantly saving health packs thats what mocked me the most. But just remember: if you dont like it theres still the versus in l4d1, so they now have 2 versions of the versus mode, which I find is a great idea!

loving L4D2 atm feels a lot more like an actual quest for survival. they have taken the ammo out and left more guns randomly lying around so the point now is to more pick up a gun rather then keep one gun and stock up on ammo (although you still can if you dont mind using the pistols or melee). versus is harder then ever for the survivors now although running and staying in a tight group still is the best strategy. scavenge is just fun on a stick if you can seperate a member or two all in all loving it.

Still only played the first two campaigns. Fancy a bit of Swamp Fever after the frag fest, B-Man?
