Enhanced AI became more realistic, with such traits as selfishness, egocentrism and fuckeveryoneelseionism, which is all the same thing, really. Too bad they didn't taught them, that healing a player, while a charger or a tank is running towards him isn't a good idea. By the way, is there any trace of the mysterious AI director 2.0 in this demo? Because I can't detect it. I should look for the backalley doors or stuff like this, I think there was a hole somewhere in one playthrough when it wasn't on the other playthrough, but I'm not sure.

I think it may be borked, playing the demo earlier 2 of us stayed in one room for ages and no more zombies came for us, just went straight for the others who were further ahead.

the alleyways do change, i've ran through one one walkthrough to find it bricked up in the second, and theres no supposed to be any rain. Campaign 4 is big on the rain, this one isn't, I mean you'd be annoyied after playing the stormy campaign to have rain in the next one, presumably some are sunny, some stormy, and some have a chance of rain.

I've noticed differences in the hedges (including once cutting off the quick route to the gates entirely, in the walls on the first level (and whether you can get through the cafe) and for some reason the fences right at the start of the second level. As disco pointed out, the rain and fog control is a feature in the swampy campaign.

My favourite weird horde was playing with Claws and disco, setting off a car alarm at the end of the first level and hearing the horde converge on disco at the start of the level while he was messing around with the jukebox.

Going back to the flashlight, I'll need to take a gander again, but yeah, I always had the feeling you only really saw the effects of your flashlight. No, blinding is ridiculous, no game does that. Having it light up people properly though would be cool.

In any case, good points, I've not seen any differences in level layout but it's a short run through. I think I did get them game for less then £20 in a bargain weekend. I'm still not sure I'd play enough of it, I barely play any Left 4 Dead nowadays.

The AI yeah, annoys me too. They sometimes run up and just swipe the unique weapons as well (melee too, which they never seem to use). Oh well!

the main AI bug I have seen and found annoying (not counting survivor bot stupidity because you should never really play solo) is some of the AI pathfinding is still borked, this could be down to the levels and the pathing data i don't know but you can hide behind posts and things and infected will get stuck on the other side, but maybe i've just played the first one so much i know how to exploit the engine.

So - since my copy of L4D2 is not going to be with me until the end of November, I still can't play lol

and my L4D2 server - I can't use it as I have no demo!

So I need firm opinions here:

Gameplay - better or worse than L4D? By this I mean the whole team experience with *friends* - not bothered about pub play tbh

Graphics - better or worse than L4D?

man that game was punishing, i was at the age where i just played it over and over until i got all the secrets and finally totally the game. If you think quicktime events are harsh Jim has ridicolous things like the mission where you have to save the cows from UFOs or you die, or the stupid minigame where you have to save bunnies from dropping on the floor and splatting because your girlfriend is some kindof werewolf and when a werewolf she derives pleasure from beating you up if you let her kill any bunnies. Oh and its all old school arcade style for some stupid reason so no saves and if you run out of lives its back to level 1!
