I don't like the idea of that.

I bought L4D for fullprice (50€).
It had 4 campaigns and 2 versus maps, 4 survivors and 8 weapons.

I thought.. ok it's valve they will update the game and there will be enough content after a few months.

But we waited for .. I dont know... 5 months until they released the other 2 versus maps(maps which we know from the campaign) and a survival mod.

Now they say: hey we will release L4D2!
With the same things like in L4D, but one new monster and 4 other guys and a few new maps (4 campaigns again???).

Cmon this sucks. I really thougt we would get that content via dlc for free.

I won't buy this for full price. 20€ is max!

Not really seeing why the TF2 model couldn't be implemented...

Hmm, there's enough new features to make it fairly fresh, I guess. It's certainly a bigger shake up of the game than the TF2 expansions have been.

And it does look pretty damn good.

(limiting new weapons to the new maps obv.)

The free weekends for tf2 set sales sky rocketing.
I don't really get why valve decided to take a whole new approach to l4d with every aspect possible.

Will not be buying this, L4D was a massive disappointment with little content and a long wait for what should have been part of the game at launch.

Listening to the RPS podcast, Chet's saying they'll still update L4D anyway- they've still got matchmaking to come, and community maps are about to kick off anyway. It's still not clear if it'll be full price anyway. He uses 'fresh' and 'new experience' a lot.

It was responding to John Walker asking for a pre-emptive response to people saying all this stuff. Not really much of an answer, but looking at the feature list I can think of plenty of mainstream game sequels with less innovation than this.
