ah well you see i'm not a musician, i just work with a fair bit of sound recording and foley. And for ADR i think pro tools connected to the recording booth works lovely.

protools is for producers
cubase and logic are for musicians

I just hate paying loads of money for some lazy ass producer to mix something in pro tools leaving me no control over the mix.
It happened when we went to record our last demo and it sounded crap!
So we just took our own gear and did it ourselves and it sounded much better with not as expensive gear Cheesy

Got the power supply yesterday and found why my nephew had got the laptop so cheap, someone had tried to reinstall Windows XP on it and had found out about the SATA hard drive.  Disabled SATA and Windows XP went on fine.  He now has a nice gaming laptop that is way more powerful than my desktop setup (upgrade delayed again) Sad

It's a nice change to actually be able to go to a company's website and find drivers.  I like HP laptops, they make a change from the cheap shit end of the market.

I assume you mean AHCI?
There's a windows registry change you can make so that windows will boot from both ATA and AHCI modes instead of bluescreening. I did it on my laptop and it took about 30 seconds.
