My current headphones are going, so soon after getting them (replacements for some really old ones got at Christmas).

I am probably for the meantime get some similar ones - earbud in-ear ones. However, I'm thinking of riding a bike to work in the future, and these are likely going to be less suitable since they'll fall out of my ears more often.

Anyone have any preferences, or "golden finds", for any type of in-ear bud headphones?

The Sony once should be very nice, I just use standard iPod once (to cheap to actually care about quality/comfort) oh and I take the bike every day.

I've got Sennheiser cx300.

They are very good and you get different attachments which you can switch if they don't fit.

it could be difficult to drive with the bike with in-ears.
Often they produce sounds, when the cable gets in contact with your clothes.
But if you don't move too jerky there wont be problems...

both good headphones (essentially the same). maybe not the best if you ask one of those audiophiles that keep Bose in business but i've never had a problem with them and out of every in ear headphones i've had (many) i would have to say they have the best mix of sound quality and blocking outside noise. Comments on those say that they don't last long but i have a pair of the creative ones that are just beginning to go now after 2 years .

As per the previous 2 posts: The Sennheisers are OK - identical to the Creative ones really.

They do get static sometimes if they touch metal - i.e. a coin in your pocket sometimes.

Wow...£14.99 for the cx300's - I paid like £30 for those when I bought them.

They are very good.

I've got some Shure E2C's, as well as the same Sony's as deadly.
The E2C's, once fitted, are immovable and brilliant sound quality, but block out a lot of outdoor sounds and take a little while to fit properly so can be annoying if you're in a situation where you need to take them in/out regularly. The Sony's are very good for a bundled headphone (nwz-a829?), can be taken in and out quite easily but there's a chance they could fall out while cycling, they fall out if i go jogging with them unless i peg the cable to my shirt.

I also have the Cx300's
as inearphones go, theyr pretty top notch
but I really prefere the quality of a good set of headphones!
If you must have in ear, then the Cx300s are your best bet!
If you want the best sound ever, get some BeyerDynamics DT770 headphones... Theyr expensive but they blow the balls off of everything else!

Funny, because my current ones (and what I'll likely get as a replacement) are CX300's. I didn't want to colour the discussion from the offset

For bikes, the main thing I'd have thought were them falling out. Mine just sometimes don't stay in if moving around a lot at work. I need to try it on a bike, once some replacements arrive (hearing mostly only out of the left one right now means it'd be tough testing it biking around).

I'll check out all suggestions, so keep them coming

I recently bought some Phillips SHE2550 in-ear phones. Quite cheap @ £10 from Tesco's! Bought them for my MP3 player and because they're very flat and don't fall out of your ear, as I use mine under ear defenders whilst strimming and mowing   The sound is good (much better than the OE Creative ones that came with the mp3 player). Worth a look.

those are good too, my problem with them is that the lead on them is too short

the extension that came with mine borked pretty quickly so i went back to the creative ones but the sony ones are really good provided that you keep the extension in good nick

cx300s here. Don't bother spending too much money on good sound quality, as it's not likely you're going to get it if you're riding a bike next to traffic.

I'm on cx300 ii's here. They're great, but perhaps attenuate outside noises a bit too much for me when I'm cycling sometimes (I'm on the largest earbud size thing).
