nVidia still do have the better GPU. I used to be a right fanboy and always hated ATI
but since the new 4 series they have really come into the spotlight.
check out some benchmarks for comparisonAs you can see they do very well.. theyr not quite as good as the top nvidia cards but theyr also priced to sell!
the difference in price is silly when you consider the slight difference in frame rates
So ATI are better perbuck but nVidia are better
for cards, depending on your budget the 4850/4770 are increadible for the cash so those are my recomendations.. If you have a few quid more to spend get a 4870 or 4890..
If you can wait, get the new 5850 when it comes out
Those are my recomendations
The main reason enthusiasts are going with ATI now though (even the ones with no budgets) is due to the intel chipsets on the mobo. the nVidia boards are shite! even the top end ones cant compete with a half decent P45 board for overclocking! (with the 790i you can barely get 4.0Ghz out of a Q9650)
and its
intel chipset = ATI Crossfire
nVidia chipset = nVidia SLI
Cool ta.
I've got the P35-DS3P (your reasons exactly why i didnt go for an nvidia board, , with a Q6600 (old hotter revision as I bout it when the price suddenly dropped)

Will check out the ATI's then cool

Went for nVidia as at the time nothing came close to the 8800 ultra, it was £400 tho n now I have a house its a bit difficult to justify that sort of money again lol
