I've been playing on serve 2 a bit recently, and I was wondering if the arena.cfg could be changed?

Most people I've spoken to have agreed that it could be better if the team size was increased (to max?) and if calculated crits were disabled (so kritz, firstblood and KGB still count).


Obviously it's up to the (=WDG=) clan, but I seem to remember someone saying they were going to do this, but I guess they forgot.

I agree with the team sizes, so all players are playing all the time (unless theres an odd number Wink )

But crits should stop on.  As much as I hate them, when youre having a bad day of playing, they do add a bit of fun.

I've seen servers where the players vote crits on/off before each match. That would be the best solution IMHO.

too much hastle, and most players dont vote with any thought.... I for one am guilty of this, the map change vote for example I just press anything to get it off my screen Wink , or one of my binds for quick weapon change will do it for me Cheesy

If he offers you 'no crits', just say no.

Anyway, I rely on crits for most of my kills.

We wanted to get the teams so there was no cooldown or "bench" players, but my look into it was a bit worthless and it needs admin testing I guess.

Must keep criticals though. Except for matches I don't want that fun randomness removed.

I think it's just a case of putting maxplayers = 32 and sv_visible_players = 24 or something like that to make the teams so there are no bench players or something.

This wasn't forgotten and I aleady set server 2 to have max teams a while ago. Sadly it didnt work and I'm open to suggestions on how to prevent the 3rd team from being used (and for players being benched in arena).

Arena mode seems to arrive at three teams no matter what - plenty of other clan admins frustrated at this technicality of the game mode.

Again, will discuss with Dave and see what we can do. In the meantime, I'll ask our clan members / community for any tips or help that they can provide. The whole 3 teams thing is rather silly when players have to sit out Wink

Can you set a vote for configs? So there could be a crits vote and a "force random class" vote, that would be quite cool.
