Okay, this is pretty straight forward. I have the cash to pick one of these games up. My fav strategy game is AoE 2, nothing since then has captivated me (well, except galactic civ, but that's turn based). I'd like to know, which game you prefer, and possibly which you'd like to play online ... with me.

Never played DOW and I'm a long term fan of the Total War series so I'm a little biased.

Empire is buggy (the worst bugs seem to of been fixed now though) the install was a nightmare and the graphics are no better than Medieval 2, however all the pain is more than worth it.  

The campaign map is brilliant (better even than Medieval 2, more like a Civilisation game), the naval combat is great and the land combat is, well, like any other Total War game, ie the best simulation of historical fighting in real time you can buy.

If you have never played a Total War game you may be better of finding Medieval 2 on budget to see if a "proper" strategy game is your thing.

never played ETW, but DAW2 is awesome!

DAW is brutal, fast and has a nice setting.
Relic is always updating (they are still patching CoH)
GFWL is a pain in the ass, but I hope they will fix some bugs soon.

Empire for me. Epic on so many levels. Except campaign objective length, which is shorter than in the past for some reason.

Last time I tried to play a Total War game at a friend's house I was branded "the worst general in recorded history". Not sure it would be a great idea to try again.

I still can't get past the tutorial or battle  loading screen  Sad
The game continues in the background though so if I mouse hover at random, the cursor changes and I can select things that I can't see. I think this is how the generals fought the 1st World War Smiley

Total War takes some learning (3 -4 battles) if you haven't played it before.  Fansite forums are also very helpful.
