There has been some interest in this ancient (1996) but brilliant game.  There is a community that has been modding it called Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe (Open TTD) the graphics are still crap, the AI is appalling but it is addictive as hell.  It even works with Vista and you and get an iphone/ipod touch version.

As it was mentioned in PC Gamer a while back I assumed it wasn't dodgy.  If there is a problem I'll remove it.

But, TTD, awesome game, probably one of the best games I ever bought [And it was in one of those big boxes ] I still to this day find that I can spend hour building rail roads all over the map

Abandonia is a legit site and I've been on it before. It does make available software that is no longer under copyright (an example is an old favourite called UFO: Enemy Unknown).

Unless someone proves me wrong I don't believe that any of the above sites are pirate or offer illegal material in any way.

Just installed TTD and OTTD on my laptop [vista -.-] and it runs very nicely, can't wait till class gets boring

Haha, Junta, they do provide illegal material but it's just that no one will ever get sued over it (it is a civil matter not a criminal one) - dead companies are just a pain and abandonware sites are, well, just that, abandoned games.

I'd not worry too much though, tbh.

I actually own TTD - so I play OpenTTD legally it's awesome - and for AI there is a AI build with user-made AI's which are getting pretty good too.

They are doing a new graphics pack that doesn't require the original graphics but at the moment it's alpha and looks crap.
