Maybe the Sandman could have a lesser effect on the heavier classes, and vice versa? I mean, the Heavy's going to have a pretty thick skull, and the Soldier's wearing a helmet, you wouldn't expect a baseball to have quite such an impact. Wink

He does make a good point, but it kind of falls down when you consider that bullets, flames, rockets and grenades can't stop an uber, but a baseball can; I don't think a thick skull or protective headgear is going to be much of a difference when that little blob of dark matter sculpted into a baseball hits you in the face!

My ultimate goal in life is to airblast a sandman ball back at the scout and then taunt kill him.

Edit: To actually respond to the question - Yes - I think so. In my opinion the classes shouldn't have a strict "A scout should never be able to beat a Heavy" or "A Pyro will always dominate the Scout", sure, each has its advantage, a scout can put two close shots in the back, and by the time the heavy has turned around the scout will be long gone, and then return to deliver the final blow.

I didn't want to start another sandman moan thread or necro an old one, so thought I'd post this here.
Ok, I had my first "you bastard" sandman experience last night that didn't involve me getting stunned and thought I'd share it with you. We were playing on badwater, I was a pyro and I'd just flared a heavy from behind and closing in with the axti out. From out of nowhere, a scout, on my team, pops up, stuns him the heavy and runs off. "Bonus" thinks I, forgetting about the 50% damage nerf, "Easy kill". WRONG! 2 hits with the axti and he's STILL not dead. The heavy then wakes up and revs up, so I move in for the killing blow, then up pops the bloody scout again and hits him with the FaN, knocking him out of axe range, where by the heavy turns round and fills me full of lead whilst the scout flits off to go play table tennis in the land of the faries somewhere (I dunno, he might've died, I was too rage-ie to notice). Little buggers are causing agro on both teams now![/rage]

Yeah!
I was sniping and usually I pick targets that are high priority and/or easy to kill...for some reason scouts just pick whatever I'm about to shoot.
I am just about to shoot a medic but he gets stunned, not only does this make me miss my shot because the medic stops moving BUT if I should be so lucky to headshot him afterwards he would still need another headshot to go down!

Bonk! ? Useless for me. I mean, scout without double jump? Nothing is worth that imho! A scout was perfectly capable of dealing with any class 1v1 (save the sentry builder - can't remember class name, nvm anyway Wink) Scout could take down heavy like a cake even before, now it's just overkill, and annoying. I don't use it (have it unlocked). In fact, I don't use any of the updates, as scatter is superior to FaN, except for scout duels, and the FaN destroys the double jump.
