IMHO there is still room for improvement when it comes to communication.
One example would be to communicate more clearly the positions of enemy sentries so that a) teammates can avoid them and b) players can attack them even when they haven't seen the SG themselves (even more important when going for an SG without a Über, e.g. as demo or soldier.
It happens, but it could happen more often. There is a lot of communication about spies (their disguise, haircolor, eating habits, sexual preference, whatever) but relaying info about a SG and its position doesn't happen that much (or I miss it all the times because me ears still ring from Rips laughter).
Which brings me to another question: Are there names/designations/labels for significant or typical spots on the various maps. Because I usually find it difficult to make myself clear when I try (often enough fishing for proper words and not finding them):
Teatime: "Guys, there's an enemy sentry on the ledge"
Teatime: "You know, the ledge above the entrances"
Teatime: "Opposite the cap, where you enter from the first part"
Teatime: "The ledge you can access by the ladder"
Teatime: "And the gun is aiming on the tunnel exit"
Teammate: "Teatime"
Teatime: "Yes?"
Teammate: "This map is already over"
Teatime: "Oh"
(BTW: Dustbowl, 2nd stage, 2nd cap)
So, what do you call typical spots on the standard maps? How could communicating spots/positions be improved?
(For a time I was thinking of a system where you would use a clockwork face (projected on the map floor) with 12 being the next cap and 6 being the starting point (spawn or main area entrance) which would at least provide general directions, but it's not very precise. Example Goldrush, 1st stage, 1st cap: Sentry in the left die building would be 1 o'clock, the sniper on the right 2 o'clock, the soldier on the right side ledge close to respawn 5 o'clock
Example. On 1st stage 2nd cap your 6 o'clock would be the main tunnel exit. The usual sg spot right would be 2 o'clock, the pyro in the right corner 5 o'clock, the heavy left 10 o'clock)
