If it bothers you that much you can right-click the game in Steam and change the option to keep it updated to DON'T keep it updated. Then when you want to play it, change it back and it'll dl the patches.

It may mean pre-empting your wanting-to-playness by an hour or so to download all the patches, but meh, at least its not ALWAYS going to be updating itself anymore.

Need to play this more as well and it just got a massive balance update http://store.steampowered.com/news/4157/The actual interesting points I can find buried in there? Mod support seems better i'm not sure but I don't think it was there on release now it loads them from a folder. And all the pre-order exclusive items are no longer exclusive they drop in anyones campaign hooray. |

Was one of the games I downloaded for entertainment while I was offline, so maybe a bit soon to play it through again for me. I've heard the last stand mode is pretty fun though, so if anyone's up for some of that I'll redownload it when I'm back online.

Last stand mode is quite fun, although I've only ever played it with Russian kids who raged and were laggy as hell.

I'd be up for playing the OC, or the expansion (which is more streamlined - and I've not played that in co-op yet!). Give me a shout on steam anyone! I did play with Ringel but we kinda petered out a bit! the OC takes a while if you actively actually do side missions sadly.
One issue however is you need to be on Live etc. - and also, the hoster is the only one who can save and load - and remember he is ALWAYS the commander for some damn reason!
Last stand rocks, but shame no mention of fixing the damn exploits people still use to abuse the map, and still no more maps or changes to that mode - it just is a bit stagnated, even if it is still very hard to beat. I'd love to play it properly with some guys, I've had to resort to resetting a characters level to make it more a challenge.

Yeah! The only game I have installed apart from BioShock 2 (soon to be uninstalled I guess) that still uses that. It's bizarre though; only *in game* can I chat and use it to contact people on their Xboxes...sigh.
