Was gonna talk about this in another thread, but in an attempt to for once NOT derail another topic, thought I'd make another thread.

Any who, does anyone have this? Don't think I've ever seen anyone from here playing it.

I went through a phase of playing this constantly, totally loved it. Me and my brother were the ultimate tank team plus putting artillery on a group of infantry (or tank) was the funniest shit to watch. Or loads of you running through some well placed smoke to cause some epic pwnage are just some of the fun that could be had. More to the point, this game is really fun when the team works together.

However, this is rarely the case, and can ruin the game a bit. Worst is with tanks, there is room for 2/3 (Driver, Gunner, MGer) and whilst you can drive by yourself, changing position appropriately, it's far more efficient to have at least 2 in the tank. However, this often brings epic dick hole central. First and foremost, everyone wants to be the gunner, no one wants to drive (kinda how sometimes no want wants to play medic cos they want to get kills, not help the team) so will essentially refuse to drive, paired with the fact loads of these guys couldnt hit a barn door at 10 paces...in a tank, doesn't hold promise when faced by a Tiger tank. Also if you're already in the gunner seat and someone does get in to drive, 4 out of 5 times, it's a total retard, who just accelerates straight forward, then drives around in circles, then finally gets the tank stuck in a ditch, hops out and runs away (During all this you've been screaming at him to stop so you can shoot an enemy tank). It truely is slam face on desk irritating. Also, randomly dying without any idea what just happened was sometimes a common occurrence.

DESPITE that though, I think it's pretty decent (though I hear not many people play it anymore) and back then, I didn't have any chums to play with so you were at the mercy of strangers. However if anyone else has it, maybe fancy a game at some point for some ultimate tank teamage?

Ive got it too.
But I only played it for ~ 4 hours and then I never played it again.
Don't know why...

I tried to drive tanks, but I wasnt very succesful.

played it for a while a bit ago, had a couple of free weekends on it before during my BF2 days but never really got too into it, far too involved for it to be very much fun

I might be persuaded to try it. I think I didn't before because I already had CoD, UO, CoD 2, DoD, DoD:S if I wanted a multiplayer WWII FPS, didn't feel like I needed another.

Talking of DoD:S, I want another WDG offensive on strand sometime.
