Bioshock is now available for 5€. My question is: Could somebody send it to me it as a "gift" via steam. I would buy it, but I live in Germany and steam would send me the cut-version of the game..  Ringel, did this work? I was always under the impression that Steam would apply country-specific restrictions anyway ... |

Ok, but gifting in my understanding (never done it before) is just passing a license to another person. This person would still have to download the game through his own steam-account and steam, knowing that that person sits in a certain country would download the appropiate version for that country.
So the question is: Does the fact, that the original license was for the UK override the location of the downloading steam-account?

Wondered about the same thing. UT3 isn't available for Germany....
Unless you're talking about the uncut version or (maybe) steam: Yes it is. As a matter of fact germany got it an entire week before the rest of the world. |

he says that he checked the gore/ect against the the cut version and he has the uncut uk version that i sent him! (this is for bioshock but im assuming its the same for ut3)

It looks like it worked. I think that Chaos bought the UK-key and sent it to me. He also sent me UT3. ..downloading atm.. If its works there too, i'll post it. In the steam-forum was a guy who said that a friend of him sent him Wolfenstein 3D via steam to Germany. Its forbidden in Germany, but steam doesn't care about this. L4D EU-Version is banned too in Germany... But who dares.... Grins  |
