IMO, its gotta be something that lets you run for a few seconds at a high enough speed to pass sentries without them being able to track you. Kinda like cloak, but with speed.

I don't know, I'm not convinced the scout needs a buff against sentries - it's hurting engineers even further, SG's are (individually) probably underpowered as it is, and you're removing the main weakness on what is already a strong class.

Couldnt agree more. Scout can take an un-attended sentry with long range pistol. SG's are the main obstacle for scouts (decent ones), as it doesnt matter how well you jump when the gattling gun tracks you

I'd go for more of a trailing blur effect to make him harder to hit except with a sentry. Say, have it as a side effect of him shooting someone with one of his weapons, then have the weapon itself shoot slower. I could also see him having an antenna thing which allows other players to see enemies in a certain range of the antenna, wallhack style. He is a scout after all...

Ah, but a scout has no chance vs a manned sentry, often limiting it's ability to actually scout and go ahead of the pack, which usually leaves them languishing in mid field.

One interesting feature in TFC was that a scout would undisguise (or whatever the proper word may be) a spy when bumping into him.
Would be more useful for defense than offense, though, and it might affect spies too much ...

They kinda made this by making every player bump into enemy spies, therefore detecting them, scout can cover more ground than other classes therefore he is better at "spybumping".

I'd like to see the nailgun that was in around in testing, but make it so that you fire in 3 round bursts to cut out spamage.

They should make the medic violin taunt an area of effect insta-kill for his awesome playing. Equal taunt kills for all classes!

I think that'd be awesome too Smiley they kinda only started with the Pyro, so it's a shame the Medic got left out.

Scout wise, I've no clue since I'm so poor at playing the class what'd work better. I just hope they can't get past sentries too easily, else CP maps will be impossible for defenders (or the side with the least amount of scouts in equal CP maps).

Maybe scouts should have a timed camoflage mode similar to the spys cloak but it only makes them undetectable to SGs maybe 5 secs or something.
