I noticed tonight (after installing a buttload of new skins) that you don't allow skins on your server (sv_pure is set to 1).
This is a server default and I was wondering if there is any chance of changing it to 0.
There is little negative to this, the only thing is that some nobhead could have a very bright spy skin (or something), and it's not like CSS where you get aimbot skins (as far as I know) plus there is normally an admin about.
Thoughts?

Sv_pure used to be 0, I can't remember why it was changed. (I think it stopped the WDG logo appearing on the maps, but maybe another admin can clarify this?)

One our admin team identified an exploit for sv_pure being turned off. To that end, we turned it on to ensure we didnt fall foul of cheating (and cheats do target servers with pure off too).
Sam - check the admin discussion board mate, you'll find a topic there with the details I think.
We'd obviously not go posting details of possible exploits on the public area anyway.

meh, right call i'd say, does it really ruin your day to not have your custom skins?!
What kind of skins are even available for TF2 anyway, i used to use some CSS ones but never thought to look for TF2.

In case you hadn't heard, chap who created those died a couple of days back. I only actually had the vaguest recollection of the latter, but for those of you born before the eighties figured I ought to mention it. Article

What the hell happened to this thread? It's been de-railed from sv_pure to 80's/90's nostalgia, lol. If you mean changing wall textures to be transparent and stuff, I don't really think that would make too much difference in TF2, unlike in CSS, plus admins can always ban offenders. As for the question of TF2 skins here is the site where I get my skins (and others) from. It's not a major thing, it's just that I mainly play on your server and it would be nice to be able to use my skins.

Unfortunately there is at least one fairly nasty exploit with sv_pure off, and if you're smart about it's not that easy to detect either (unlike glaringly obvious speedhackers)
