I don't understand why the US think the attack on Pearl Harbour was some kind of tragedy but Hiroshima isn't. One is an attack on a naval base during the war and the other killed 200000 civilian people in a city :S

Well, history is written by the winners, but iirc America wasn't at war with Japan until the sneak attack. Sure, they were almost certainly going to enter the war soon anyway, but nothing had officially been declared.

you're forgetting nagasaki cv, even if you can come up with some bullshit defence of dropping the first bomb. nagasaki was probably the most lethal war crime in history and totally unpunished. Along with dresden and other allied war crimes. It makes it kinda sickening when you compare to say the Nuremberg trials when many german officers/troops were executed for "following orders" yet noone questions some of the measures taken against civilians by our own forces
