US is different to UK Keyboards yes, most notibly the @ symbol is on the number 2 key on US.

Also interesting fact, is that windows does not actually interpret UK keyboards correctly.  Pipe and broken Pipe are the wrong way round Sad a pain in the ass if you use powershell
