Could this be the shortest online lifespan of any major game release ever? Has it burnt out already? Have Valve screwed up royally with the lack of campaigns - particularly for versus mode? Is that the shittest game matching/server browser ever? Why fix issues in a game no one is playing?

Wrong, Mode. I actually love it. Had a great match Saturday night. But it lacks content and has little depth. Setting aside a large number of design issues that need tweaking. I just think that it is not holding the attention of the online gaming community.
Maybe the console peeps will support it better - they're used to no depth!

I posted to elicit the views of the community. We appear to have cooled our passion for the game damn quick and the global numbers saturday night were alarmingly low. Just be interested what you all think.

Yep, still interested in playing too (don't think I've even finished all the campaigns yet), but been taking a bit of a break from tf2/l4d. Happy to play when I'm around though.

Fair points Gas. I think the low player numbers per game are probably hurting it most. It is somewhat more suited for consoles in that respect. I'll still buy it when I get home if you guys are willing to the play through the campaigns with me a few times.  |

I just got slightly bored playing it one evening and since then I've lost interest. Still its a good game, just needs more content and less crouching!

The matchmaker always used to freely throw me onto US servers, which was never much good. Apparently it's been updated, which I guess might help. I'd like to play it more, but I just... don't....

I think it would do a lot better on pc if it had a server browser like all other source games do. Sometimes I do actually want to see some information about a server and the people on it before I join, and it'll stop putting me on rubbish servers. I think the problem is that you can't really play it with less than 4 people, it's just so much better when you play with real people.
