First online game was pretty much CS for me, with fairly reasonable pings in the 60-80 area since I started out my internet carrer with a fairly decent ISDN connection. Back then, when flat rates were still unheard of in germany.

Then School intefered and the additional lack of sufficiently potent hardware pretty much threw me out of the online gaming business. On occasion, I would haul my gear over to a friend for some rounds of UT, UT2k3, Quake 3, Starcraft, Warcraft 3 or something. I skipped CS:S (bought it some time ago though) altogether, and aside from a short WoW intermezzo I got back into (hafway decent) online gaming with TF2. Lo and behold, one of the first servers I joined: WDG. So I stuck around. The rest is history. Wink

And yes, I remember Quake. Actually I remember having played a pirated beta of Quake with a different - and unfinished - end level.

As a matter of fact, the Orange Box was the first VALVE game I played.

Well, the exception of about ten minutes of Half-Life at my friends beforehand.
