Chaos, what Air cooler have u used for LGA775?
I used a few... my personal fav was an L7F that I lapped.. cheap (about 20 quid) and really does the job... got a e2200 up to 3.2 (2.2 stock) and was limited by the mobo, not heat! but since then I hear good things about thermalight(is that right spelling?) and of course the zalman stuff.. but those are quite expensive

yea that is one of the best air coolers out atm... unless your looking for a 1366 then your screwed pretty much... unless your watercooling and have an EK Supreme... only down sides to that zalman is the price and the 3pin not 4pin cpu fan header and the clips are a faff! but an awsome performer Edit- this one is top of the pile though IMO.. same company also make some awsome gpu and ramsinks...

I've had lots of sucess with my Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (got my Q6600 G0 from 2.4 to 3.3 gig without touching the voltages) but wondered if there might be a better choice.

the zalman and the themalright are the best 2 that i know of... scythe ninja (the one with 8 pipes) is also an awsome cooler... but theyr all expensive as hell best bet is to go water... what I love about it most is that you can take most of the water loop from rig to rig... just need a new cpu block and gpu block now and then but my EK Supreme CPU wb is on its 3rd rig now... just needed to lap it cuz it had poor contact... so its expensive, but lasts aaages... so its cheaper in the long run

The Freezer 7 is the bomb, granted there are others out there that may shave an extra degree or two off ure temps but for twice the price of the freezer its not worth it. To produce the kind of heat where you would need to consider upgrading from a Freezer 7 you'd need to be overvolting ure CPU pretty heavily. A far more likelly senario is noise, the fan on the freezer 7 is (relatively) small and i bet something like that thermalright that was linked earlier with a 120mm fan stuck on the side of it will do the same job but quiter, again tho, is a barely discernable difference in noise worth double the cost and the hasstle of removing and refitting ure cooler? Having said all this i think you mentioned u read Custom PC so im guessing you know all this allready, im an avid reader too and have been for a while.

yeah, post them up papa, they should be in an excell file in the directory you installed the bechmarks in.
Ill dig mine out too but i dont think my poor old rig will be able to compete, its a good few years old now. Im living my benchmarking and overclocking ambitions out through Harbi at the moment as he actually has the ready cash to upgrade his PC regulaly so every time he does we bench it then overclock the nuts off it too see what he can get.
Ill get him to post his too.
