[Teatime]

Yesterday I was introduced to a more faithful remake of the original Badlands.
Playing that I remembered that it was a very nice map, though quite spammy on occasion.
Don't know if you already know that map (or perhaps even have it on the 2nd server which I never visit), but if not it might be worth a try.
I'm not sure how well it translates to TF2 since it has some massive chokepoints and the dynamics of TFC were in some respects drastically different to TF2, so it might be a major disappointement.
Yesterday we were 4 people on the server which, of course, allows no conclusions how it would play with 24 players.
I might add that, just like the original, it's a CTF-map.

Has anybody else played that one?

I'd love to see that. Badlands was one of my favourite maps on TFC. Have you got a link to the remake?

There's also decent remakes of Rock2 and Avanti.

I've played the rock2 remake, it's not bad would love to play avanti though, loved that map

(Without having played this version of rock2: If the layout is the same as the TFC-version it could be quite frustrating since it has a lot of chokepoints and since c-jumping was a major key for success in TFC I'm not sure how well it plays. Worth a try, though, because it was a fun map)

rock2 and old style badlands would be cool as well though. The new version of the latter is so far removed it's pretty much a completely different map. I remember the old one being rather fun for Engis.

I had a run around Badlands and rock2 and would love a game on both, I think the problem would be team sizes though, I think you'd need at least 10 a side to get a decent game going. Haven't had a look at avanti yet, but I do like what I've read about it. Really really wish I'd played more TFC, so many fond memories for so many people, but not me

Are these available on the custom WDG server? I'd love to try Rock2, and I now remember avanti - never played much of it in TFC - and wouldn't mind trying that too.

That original badlands I remember wasn't the best, it was awesome for some classes and sucked for the rest. Might be worth a shot though.
